Increase the image size we can post? Can’t always post an iPhone photo these days.
I've run into that also and it is usually not the image size (in MB) that is the issue, but rather the dimensions of the image being too large for the forum software to handle. If you open the image in Preview or similar and knock it down by 10-20% or so, that seems to make it work.

It is an odd issue because both the before and after image can be under the MB size limit and the larger image won't work for whatever reason.

Hopefully the new forum software addresses this.

Not possible on iOS though which is most likely where I run into a problem.

I think this can be changed now.

I’ve looked at our settings. There is no image size restriction. But there is a 5MB file restriction. Can you remember any example that doesn’t work? What is the size?

It was the image in this post that prompted the discussion.

The original file was film_like.jpg at 860KB and 6000 x 4000 in dimension, and it would error out when trying to upload. I found by opening in Preview and resizing down 80% to 4800 x 3200 made it work.

I'll PM you some other relevant discussion.

Can you send me a sample via email so I can see what’s causing it. I uploaded a photo from my XS max and it took.

Thanks. Downloading it now!
I have shortcuts in the Shortcuts app that do tasks similar in nature to this. I use them for converting images to JPEG or PNG (they're Share sheet shortcuts that accept images only), but there's also a Resize Image action that is absolutely serviceable for this. Main benefit here is that you don't have to install an additional app (assuming you already have the Shortcuts app) and you can customize the Share sheet action to do exactly what you want, like for example also deleting the original photo.

My suggestion is a separate "front page political Apple stories sub forum"

Already noticed the MacRumors front-page has two sub-forums with a how to guide seemingly coming in the future. Should be interesting to see how this clears some of the clutter of the stories.

I'd like to see more rumors postings in the blog portion of the site and via the forum referencing the blog. Mostly because I read another Apple-centric site and some of the more interesting rumors, mostly pertaining to Apple's patent filings, would make for some incredible discussion. Like the rumor of the next MBP/MacBook utilizing a glass composite keyboard with haptic feedback.

I hope not! That would be an awful keyboard!

Yeah, despite the name of the site, there's a large number of rumors which goes unmentioned.

Kind of like Apple Insider. It's mostly a name. The reality is the big tech companies have internal offices for catching actual leakers, firing them and suing them. Apparently Microsoft behaves much like the Stasi.
