I understand all of that. I do not want no one to have the big garish red arrows. I just want them gone for me (i.e., make it an option).
That certainly seems reasonable (just as I keep on holding out hope that the option to hide avatars will be made available in this new versions of the forums as well).

Huh. "Hide Avatars" might even be there, under "Style Options", but I have no way to find out, but that is the bottom line of my preferences pane with no way to see anything below it.

Not sure what you mean. Device? Screenshot?

There is nothing further under there.

The full Preferences page can be accessed by clicking on your name at the top of the page, then clicking Preferences in the left column.

I don't think I've ever seen anything under the style options, just the header basically.

As far as I know the hide avatars options hasn't been made available so far.

As others have said, the "Style Options" section is empty. Currently, the only way to hide avatars is to use CSS overrides, and it can only be done on desktop.

Nope, tried it in portrait in Safari, "Style Options" and the divider line is where it ended. Is "Notices" a mod/admin thing?
Actually I have that too. Nothing in the style section but there is thst other part about notices under it.

I don't think it's limited to staff members, I have the Notices area too and I'm not staff.

This is actually a iOS Blog (I think that's where they go) feature-ish request.

Today there is an article on Apple Watch and accurate heart rate (https://www.macrumors.com/how-to/apple-watch-accurate-heart-rate-reading/). There have been a bunch of these "how to" style articles on little tidbit info since the launch of the Apple Watch. Is there a way to go into iOS Blog, or some other part of the site and see all of these articles since in timeline format they are mixed up with all other iOS related information. They are a good resource but for new Apple Watch owners or as reference, it would be nice to have them all in one list of headlines or filtered list so that you can get to what you need.

Thanks.

And I found it. #6 in the Apple Watch Round Up section - Apple Watch How Tos.

I said something like this on another forum, though the context was slightly different: get stone rid of generic avatars. I mean, in the forum listings, there is an avatar next to every topic line for the OP, if the OP does not have an avatar (anyone with under 500 posts), do not put in that grey head+shoulders avatar. It might be a challenge, or you could use something different, like squiggly lines depicting a dialogue, but the current thing is plain ugly.

Agreed. I find these genetic avatars to be much nicer:

Is there a setting for the user side to have 100 posts per page instead of 25 or so per page like the old vB format style but on the new format?

no, there was a plugin for it, but it breaks some other things so we haven't installed it.
