Wow - my eye literally (well of course not literally) burning due to the white on white background. It is truly horrible. Equally bad on Firefox and IE (on Windows 7). Slightly better on the iPad. I guess you can't make everyone happy.

I don't like it. I visit many forums and I like that they are all laid out essentially the same way. Makes navigation 2nd nature to me and I can find what I'm looking for quickly and easily regardless of which forum I visit... Except MacRumors :(

IMHO this UI change is not a step forward. I have no idea why we need screen real estate taken up by icons that end up taking more more cursor movement and clicks to get to the same forums.
In my humble opinion your humble opinion is incorrect. But then again, I use other forums running Xenforo, so I am quite used to it and I am glad to see the antiquated vBulletin kicked to the kerb.

I gotta say, this is one of my favorite features :)

Other than the circular avatars, non-Retina smilies, and a few missing features I quite like the new theme, although it could use a dark mode. ;)

Wow. New layout. New forums. Great job guys. To me a total surprise even so I usually visit the site section of the forum. I guess I didn't for a while. I guess I keep my pixelated avatar.

If u remove check boxes for all alert notifications, yet u have already received alerts previously, how can u get rid of these ?

will be be removed eventually ?

Also, shouldn't there be a "post reply" button *on top* instead of needing to now scroll to the bottom ?

You mean the ones in the alert area? Those get purged eventually. If you mean existing subscriptions, you can unsubscribe from those in your Watched Threads section.

  • the multiquote button works really poorly. very unintuitive and cumbersome, compared to before (or broken, if that is not what is supposed to be like)
I haven't used the function here on Macrumors enough since the change to say, but on every other xenforo forum I'm on, the multi-quote works so unreliably as to make it useless. The primary problem I've seen elsewhere, yet to be confirmed here, is that if you click the multi-quote button, but don't insert it into an actual quote, it gets stored in the list of quotes and you end up inserting it accidentally at some later date. I never use it.

Did Ive just redesign the Macrumors forum now? At the risk of sounding like the old goat that hates any form of change the new look is just as bad as Yosemite. When will companies learn that if something works you don't need to change it to make it worse just to change it. Keep it as it is.

Yosemite has been a beauty to look at! I love it! But I do hate the new forum redesign...

We disagree on Yosemite but agree on the forums. I see there is a link to the discussion of the new forum look grahmperrin has listed. I voiced my displeasure there. But I'm sure it will be heard as much as those of us complaining about Yosemite, the terrible new Google Maps, or the idiocy of splitting Messenger from FB or splitting foursquare into 2 apps have been.

We've finally launched our new theme and forum change!

Most of the data should have migrated over. If you notice any problems. Please let me know. This thread should be for bugs and issues related to the new theme. Or general feedback.

If you have tips or tricks that you want to share with other users, please post in Xenforo Tips and Tricks thread.

- Please update your avatar (everyone gets an avatar)
- Spy is disabled for the moment
- Some permissions are still rebuilding
- Some other indexes are also rebuilding

Looks much more modern but takes up a lot more space when viewing on an iPhone!!!

I wouldn't call the new forum worse, but it's different, and we need to adjust to the new layout. It's actually funny how we get used to button shapes, menus and stuff... Change one thing and it's chaos ;)
