Last weekend I bought cold weather spans, warming socks/ gloves and a fast-dry toque. They've changed my life.

I'm still stuck on the treadmill during the week, but weekends I get to get outside and run. It's so nice being cozy out there :)

Now I just have to hope we don't get any wet snow or rain in the next few days. There is no solution for running in slush.

ah, come on. you're not gonna let a little slush stop you are you? ;)

Looks like it is done today already...30 days it was and started on 1-Nov. - I don't get it...well that one is done and the run for your Mac one is still going with the same parameters...interesting.

Sorry about that guys...I could swear that if you start a challenge on the 1st of November and make it 30 days that it will end on Nov. 30th - don't know where I went wrong. Kind of sucks for those who were planning on a 50 mile day today, I know...;)

I wonder what happens in December..most miles over 31 days starting on the 1st...I don't get it...

I just got back from doing 20+. The longest run of my life. Wasn't doing it specifically because the challenge ended today - rather, that's the length my long run has gotten to in my marathon training, and I usually go long on Fridays. Just happened to work out to be the last day of the month.

That said, if this run doesn't count for *any* challenge I'm gonna be upset!

Well, it does count toward the 2250 goal. Congrats on a nice run. I hadno idea it was stopping last night - I was as surprised as everyone else. Start on 1-Nov go for 30 days - today should have been in...I can't explain it.

All that being said...Blitzens Public squad would love to have you and your miles...;)

It worked - just a day short.

In anycase the 12 days one says most miles over 12 days and starts on the 13th = my math is fuzzy, but that should be over on the 25th - we will see.

The Mac Reindeer games says it starts 12/1 and goes for 31 days.

I built them the same way...I can not understand why it closed early - if these December ones do as well then I will need to use "Nike+ math" for next year.

Don't worry about it.
The nike site still has some problems.
The site wont change my power song even though it's been changed multiple times on my nano.

My challenge stopped last sunday with an ankle injury.
Hopefully I'm back soon.

Ziwi thanks for organising these challenges.

yeah i agree, it's not that big of a deal. clearly nike+ has more problems than a website also.

sorry to hear about your ankle. good luck with it ;)

Done. We can't have that little upstart thinking he's the pope of chilitown, now can we?

(soooo many bonus points to anyone who knows the pope of chilitown reference without using google!)

Don't worry about it.

yeah, no worries, not your fault. And even if it were, none of us have the right to complain since you do everything as far as making sure these challenges go on.

Amen to that.

November to Remember!

The Run for your Mac and Twood's vs. QCassidy Challenges are complete and we have collectively made a mockery of the Macrumors 2250 miles challenge.

Great Work! Here are the stats:

The MacRumors 2250 Mile Challenge

As you can see we are crushing this challenge. Based on this the MacRumors 2008 Challenge would be somewhere in the 21,000 mile range.

This was a MacBook blowout - I wonder if this means that there are more MacBooks out in the world than any other type...interesting. Congratulations team MacBook!

The TW vs QC Challenge
twvsqcend.JPG

This was alot tighter than it looks here folks - the TW's were leading this for a while (even one member made them drag a donut for the month), but many of the QC's stepped it up for the last week or so..I personally ran the most miles I ever did in a month...time to rest...Congrats team QC!

The personal awards shout outs go to:
- QC for going over 200 miles this month (would have been over 220 but the last day thingy...:) )
- Twood for a quick recovery from the ankle issue in the beginning of the month and killing himself to try to pull his team to victory.
- desmonator - a real difference maker this month for the QC team
- rickvanr for shaving 16 seconds off of his lifetime average mile (so in Nov. he was able to average 2 minutes faster than his lifetime average) - astounding.
- beholland25 for keeping the TW's in the race and 'standing by her man' ;)
- iDag for getting over the century mark this month - great work!

- nice running from everyone!

See you next month!

I had a really bad November

I've discovered that I much prefer running outside to on the treadmill - so have been doing other things at the gym - classes and cardio wave. But with the dark nights, then it means I only run at weekends and
I ended up having every weekend busy with people staying or being away.

The good news is that December should be better! Today was glorious sunshine and I went out and did 4 miles or so. :D

Edit: And it took me over 200 miles for the year :D
