I already have an iPhone and, oh yeah, it's actually a phone. So, no. I will not ever be getting any kind of pad.

Yep, that would have gotten my vote. It looks like a great device with great potential, but without a camera, multitasking and some other features, I'll hold off until the second iteration when they have a chance to polish it off.

Thats when my 1st gen goes on ebay, after a year of enjoyment!

Just to tie me over...

I'd consider buying it just to get my Apple "Fix" since the new MacBook Pros STILL have not yet been released! (Bitter, you ask? Just SLIGHTLY!) If I knew the MBPros weren't being released til June or July for sure, yeah, I'd get one, but I'm saving my $$ for a maxed out 17" i7MBPro!! :D I need a SERIOUS workhorse of a computer for my high end audio programs and the iPad is a "cute" Apple accessory (which I'll probably get one day, but not before my new MBPro baby!) C'mon Apple, once you release that iPad, please, Please PLEASE drop that MBPro. I've got the money and I'm just DYING to give it to you! LOL!!

I like how the last option is "No plans" instead of just "No." Like I have no plan to buy one, at the moment, but that could/will change at some point in the future...

Aw, who am I kidding. They're probably right.

I voted Yes, wifi model. I'm not actually getting one tomorrow since I don't live in the US. I will however get one in August when I'm visiting New York! If it's released earlier here in Sweden (I doubt that) I'll get one here.

An option is missing:"Waiting for the 2d generation iPad"

Exactly my thought.

The so called "Early Adopters" must either have money to burn or keep forgetting that one should never buy the first generation of an Apple product.

Many times prices drop, features are added and the kinks get removed within the first 6 months.

So, WAITING is key for me.

I do want to "play" with one in a store to see if it is really magical.

Reading Fry's TIME report or Mossberg, looks like they ................in their pants from awe:)

Possibly a future generation.

If they change the app process to app store optional, rather than Apple controlling it all. Addition of terminal, addition of stylus for taking notes in cursive and drawing diagrams, Finder, multi-tasking and a compatibility layer for OS X native apps that do not make the iPad transition.

I'm really curious about the results of this. I'm beating myself up- I have a iPhone and a Macbook- do I really need one? I want to not buy one because I have no need for it, but it admittedly looks really cool. I suspect, that like the iPhone, the act of touching your content/work on such a screen will make or break it for me- so I'll decide when I do to the store and try it out.

Getting the wi-fi

Wi-fi model on hold for me tomorrow at the Apple Store. We need a second laptop in the house, but I'm committed to waiting to whenever, if ever, the new MBP's are released before I purchase. The iPad will fill a need for extra email and internet if the MacBook is travelling with the wife or myself. And plain and simple, it looks like a BLAST for travel--music, video, etc. etc. I might get a 2nd one down the line with 3G prices come down a bit.

It needs another option: I don't want to buy one but I slowly get the impression I won't be able to resist as soon as I'll touch one.

Seriously, at first I thought this iPad thing is going to be Apples Zune: they are going to sell maybe fourteen of them. But I'm probably going to be proved wrong.

Can't think of a use for it.

Agreed. I have a 13.3in laptop and a plain vanilla cell phone. I'm planning on upgrading my phone within the year, but I would never even think of getting an iPad in addition to it or instead of it.

Serious question here, outside of a few niche markets what is the appeal to the mass consumer market? All I see is a bigger iPhone with less features or laptop with reduced capabilities. I like Apple, but I'm scared they have an iFlop on their hands once the launch buzz dies down.

I have no plans to buy an iPad. But one thing is certain - Apple will continue to add features and improve the basic model. In a couple of years it will have a lot more functionality than it does now. Then it will be time to think about it.

In the meantime, I'm a lot more excited by the possibility that the iPhone will work with Verizon. I'd certainly be in the market for one if that happens.

Glad to see the MacRumors team is participating in the launch of a truly magical & revolutionary device!

Will there be a dedicated section for the iPad on the right side columns?

Or

Is the team planning to launch the new iPad section with the new website?

Let the countdown begin..........

wifi for me. Have an imac and mbp at home and this will replace the mbp.

5 out of the 7 days of the week I'm at work with free wifi or at home with wifi. I don't see myself taking this out with me on a weeknight or weekend, so wifi will suffice.

Fully plan to get the 64GB 3G ... though that will wait until I get an Air first. (5-year-old Sony ultraportable is starting to give up).
