Unfortunately, it’s too late to temper your criticism or qualify your comments now.

It’s the nature of media, and the Internet in specific.

I just miss the Apple that Steve Jobs ran. That died with him. I am now only using products that existed when he was around and the experience is just that much better. The little things: glowing Apple logo, 'breathing' light, and Ports! tons of ports! Everything lately is just a downgrade. I'm sick of boring.

Maybe Wozniak would have injected some of that pirate love that had us all believing 'in the crazy ones'

Hopefully the end of flat UI design too. I'm so sick of reliving the Tandy DeskMate era.
That’s my reaction when using Android on my Pixel 10 versus iOS 26. Liquid Glass provides a little depth and is refreshing next to the flat design of Android and previous iOS / macOS versions. I don’t mind the flat design, I just like depth effects more.

Cook was a supply chain and operations genius, but had no Vision beyond the $4000 toy.

If he had one, he never communicated it.

I appreciate the stock surge under him, but he missed as many opportunities as he capitalized on.

Everyone should bookmark this article... because within two years, everyone listed in it who had the snarky/rude comments about Tim Cook will be the same people complaining about Ternus - simply because they are experiencing some minor issue or don't like the GUI, or [insert complaint here].

Apple certainly has a lot of room for improvement lately–particularly in the software realm. But blaming Cook for any of it is just silly. Yes, the buck stops with him, but Steve Jobs himself even stated in an interview that you have to hire great people, and then let them do their job. Cook did that. And while he certainly could have fired some people faster, I also know that it's really easy for me to say sitting in the cheap seats.

I really don’t think this was a smart idea on the part of MacRumors, to amplify some of the toxic and overboard criticism that’s been voiced here.

Criticism, sure. But a lot of those comments cross the line into heckling, badgering and mean-spirited mocking.

Problem is that liquid glass ain't enough. It's not any different from Windows 10's 'fluent design' shinies. It isn't getting any better otherwise. Feels like a teaser. The depth of the LG font on the lockscreen doesn't stay active when it goes to AOD mode. The rest of the UI is entirely flat. macOS, still flat, flat traffic lights, flat UI.

I even hoped that like in the past, the Apple logo on boot would change. During skeuomorphism's peak it was a shiny chrome logo. It's been flat white since iOS 7 and macOS Yosemite. I *thought* they'd usher in a new, Liquid Glass Apple Logo, but nope, same old flat one.

For some reason these comments look very different when they're selected and featured in a front page article, rather than just lost in the crowd of comments in the comment section. Many of them are pretty embarrassing with the spotlight on them 😂. A lot of people seem to forget that their off-hand public comments are indeed public.

  • iMac The Knife - Hip hip hooray! Cook ended up being the worst possible choice to succeed Steve Jobs as Apple's CEO - at least in terms of product design, user experience, and genuine innovation.
No innovation is a weird take when Tim Cook greenlit Apple Watch (now the #1 watch in the world), AirPods (basically created the modern earbud category), and turned Apple Silicon into a performance per watt monster that made Intel-era Macs look ancient. 🤦‍♂️

I'll give you AirPods but the Watch was one of the things Steve left on a 'list' of future tech that Cook was expected to go with. Nothing new other than AirPods, Silicon and AVP have happened under Cook
