This will be the era Apple turns in a services company and becomes the first major company to implement dumb terminals that are cheap that run off the cloud primarily. Sure it will sync to your device but you wont be able to use it unless you log in regularly. Future of computing mandated by the state or whoever rules this world. Its not some invention they came up with. There will still be computers that dont do that, but those will be priced out of the common consumer.

Tim is still holding a lot of responsibilities as a chairman especially in the international affairs for Apple so there still going to be some Tim in our life for many years to come … Thank you Tim Apple!

He was an incredibly successful CEO. Made Apple a tremendous amount of money. Never released a product as revolutionary as anything Jobs did, but he deserves a lot of credit to growing Apple into a behemoth.

tgurske - Thank god. I don't know why Jobs picked a Toyota Camry to be CEO but I can't wait for someone interesting to get in there
Yo bro this Toyota Camry comment was the coldest sheeeet I’ve heard in a while. Rings too true. 😂

There’s a bit of Tony Hinchcliffe in all of us? This comment was a lethal assassination.

Wow, this is really rather Meta

An article talking about commenters who commented on other articles?

I do take issue with being flatly labeled a critic of Tim Cook.

He has done many things I very much like and many things I do not like.

It’s much more on a spectrum as opposed to the binary that is being laid out here.
and I'm commenting on your comment which is a comment on comments on the other article

For some reason these comments look very different when they're selected and featured in a front page article, rather than just lost in the crowd of comments in the comment section. Many of them are pretty embarrassing with the spotlight on them 😂. A lot of people seem to forget that their off-hand public comments are indeed public.
Turns out negging on MR everyday did have a day of reckoning.

This is a pretty fair sample of the pro and con comments. Tim should be able to make it to the end with his almost $3 billion.

I think expectations are a bit too high. With a product focused CEO, we might see a return to more fun and distinctive designs, but unless there is a radical change in screen technology there are limits to how much the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and MacBook can evolve. Their operating systems are also highly mature, so aside from deeper AI integration, it’s hard to see any major shifts there.

Technology just isn’t as exciting as it was 10–15 years ago. Unless Apple moves into new product categories or gives industrial design a stronger voice again, I don’t expect anything dramatically different.

Tim Cook stayed on-brand in every situation. The simple, straightforward design of the gold bar with a glass plaque stuck on it will forever be etched in White House history. Hopefully, Ternus will steer clear of that whole situation.

I agree, I hope it’s not a new standard to take people’s comments out of context and create it into an article. Until proven otherwise, I’m out.

Just listening to the Accidental tech podcast and the hosts really don’t like Tim Cook. Pretty hateful at times

A lot of their dislike of Cook stems from Apple's handling of the App Store.

Since the ATP hosts are all developers... they have an opinion on the topic.

I wonder if Ternus wants to do anything different with the App Store? Lower fees? Fewer restrictions?

It'll be interesting to see if anything changes under Ternus.
