Happy Birthday, MacRumors!

What will Apple be up to in 10 years?

I don't think anyone except Jobs suspected that there would a touchscreen tablet released ten years into the future back in 2000. Ten years from now, will wi-fi be the equivalent of gigabit ethernet? Will we interface with our computers primarily by gestures made with our eyes? Will we finally be able to download donuts?

I guess we'll have to keep reading Arn's prognostications. Happy B-day, Macrumors!

Congrats, Arn

Hey, Arn: Congratulations. MacRumors is so high quality in its approach, and the discussions reflect this. I know that's due to your being meticulous on what rumors the site publishes and how they are covered. I think you've created an excellent community, and I appreciate that every day.

Well I reckon this site has been my lifeline for all of about 4 years now! Keep up the good hard work!

Cheers!

congrats!

Happy b'day macRumors!
Thanks for all of your hard work Arn. I come to this site and this one ALONE for my macrumors. Your tracking of the veracity of various sources over time has been something I come to expect of people quoting sources now. Too bad we can't expect as much from our "major media outlets."

Excellence over time = diligence = Arn!

it's said that to be an expert @ something you have to do it for 10,000 hours...I'd say you're quickly approaching that mark!

Happy Birthday Arn. While I don't comment as often as I used to, I still have you guys in my Google Reader and still stop by the site everyday to check up on some things on Page 2 of the forum. Keep it up and thanks for all the updates on the site.

Today marks MacRumors.com's 10 year anniversary. It's a shocking realization that I've been doing this now for a decade. For those unfamiliar with the history of the site, I started it as a hobby back in early 2000 as a place to consolidate interesting news and rumors about Apple. I was finishing my 4th year of medical school at the time and kept the site running as I completed my medical training. But it wasn't until July 2008 that I finally gave up medicine to go full time.

With the growth of Apple, and success of their products, the interest in Apple rumors has grown substantially in the past few years, and MacRumors is stronger than ever. I feel the main strength behind MacRumors beyond tracking rumors has always been the community and discussion about the latest news and happenings. I hope to emphasize that more in the future and continue to build on our strengths.

So, thanks to our readers, staff and volunteers who have made 10 years possible.

You gave up medicine to run a rumors site?:eek::eek::eek:

Well done arn! I first came across the site in early 2003, when I first toyed with the idea of getting a Mac. MacRumors was pivotal in making me wait for the much-improved second generation 12" PowerBook in September of that year (without it, I wouldn't have even had USB2!) and I finally joined as a forum poster at that time.

Here's to another 10 years...

Happy Aniversary!!!!

Glad I found this site. So much great information condensed into one place. I never even bother to go over to the "other" insider site.
