MacWidgets.net Countdown

Two questions:
At what time exactly are you planning on opening the site?
So which website is it? Macwidgets.net, or WidgetMachine.com?
 
We're going to launch today, as I said. I'm not saying what time. :p

What is this about service? We haven't even launched yet, and the reason is we're trying to make our widgets totally bug free and perfect. Don't judge us on service quite yet!

You really should have worked out most of the bugs before launch day. Now you should be worrying about other things, like launching and bandwidth.

I hear ya. I think you'll be pleased with what you see though on launch. I made it sound like we'll be releasing pretty but buggy widgets and a website when that's far from the truth.

I can confirm that phryu is willing to give the link over AIM. It seems pretty much done to me, so it can't be that much of a delay.
I can say that the store interface is VERY nice, and flashy - there's a spotlight as you go over each widget, and fades and slides as you navigate the menus/information.
I'm still not sure about this whole paying for widgets thing, but I guess if someone finds the widget useful enough and wants the very classy designs these guys have done, it might be worth it. Most of the pay widgets didn't do anything I really wanted, and were priced too high for impulse, but again, I guess if anyone can pull off the paying for widgets thing, it's these guys.
The free ones (and yeah, there are a few free ones) seem worth checking out once the site launches.
Anyways, looking forward to being able to download some widgets! :)
 
Yep, phillryu was kind enough to show me previews of the site and it looks great, matching the whole Widget theme brilliantly.

I am now anxiously awaiting the launch, like many other people and I'd like to thank phillryu and the whole team on undertaking a project like this. I'd like to wish them all the best :)
 
All right, no more requests, unless it's from Heart Break Kid, mersea, or grapes911. I'm simply flooded with work. Thanks for the kind words so far though! :)
 
No offense, but I find this "carrot dangling on a stick" routine getting old. Im not doubting your ability to deliver great widgets, but rather your implementation. On the first page of this thread you suggested that there would only be one "pay" widget with the remainder free. I can only assume with the repeated delays you are just observing demand for your site, and now there are how many "pay" widgets and how many "free" ones? As a company that wants to make money off of consumers I would expect a little more professionalism. Just say the site will be open at "X" time, instead of this juvenile routine. :rolleyes: :)
 
I always looked at it like this...if you say you are launching your site on such and such a day, that it would be up that morning. Not at like 7 at night or whenever you get around to it. I always like to have my site ready to go at least a day before i launch, just to make sure everything is worked out, and ready to go.

But nonetheless, i'm really anxious to see this thing! So i'm just complaining :)
 
I am anxiously awaiting a site launch too. I hope the iTunes widget is one of the free ones, as the Apple widget is lacking, unstable, and rather ugly.

I've been checking this site daily for the last month. At this point, I'm pretty annoyed that the thing hasn't launched yet. A 11:59 launch time wouldn't surprise me at this point, although my current guess it 7 PM PST, because it would be 10 EST. I don't think that it would launch past 10 EST, but at this point you never know.
 
We're aiming for a preview launch pretty soon with our free widgets available for download (iTunes remote, NYT feed, iClip / Flip Clock SE's), and the official launch tomorrow.

I know, I know, we failed, but hopefully this preview will satisfy you guys for a day longer. :p

Why is that. I've been sitting here for a half hour, pretty much waiting for the launch. I could have been doing something, if I had know if wasn't going to happen today...
 
9:00CST and still NOTHING! I'm glad I haven't been waiting as long as many of the other MR members. It'd still be nice to deliver on what you promise. That's not a good way to start a new business, IMO.

I'm really knackered, haven't slept in like 24 hours. :p

I donno what we're going to do.. I need to work in team with some guy in England, but he's not awake and then I need to sleep maybe... I have 1 hour of work to do and it could be done... anyway I don't know if I'm making any sense...

man.. I hate to **** promises... this sucks :S but heh.

donno, phill will decide what we'll do... I can just say I'm so proud I participated in this great site... it blows my mind every time I load it :)
