Well I'm still waiting for the "preview" release. About an hour to go until midnight on the East Coast...

Keep the faith? It's hard.

So the site is working for some people?

When i load the site all the widgets are stacked on top of the other.

Is this b/c i am not running Tiger (yet, currently running 10.2.8)?

I was just curious about the site, to see what i may want to download when my copy of Tiger arrives.

holy crapola

the NYT widget + new iTunes widget are now permenant fixtures on my dashboard setup.

I look forward to the TODO widget :) - it looks GOREGOUS as well as the picture frame - (prays for iPhoto integration)

definitley worth the wait :)

CHEERS!

I'm still not sure about this whole paying for widgets thing, but I guess if someone finds the widget useful enough and wants the very classy designs these guys have done, it might be worth it. Most of the pay widgets didn't do anything I really wanted, and were priced too high for impulse, but again, I guess if anyone can pull off the paying for widgets thing, it's these guys.

I'm surprised you thought that the prices were to high. I was thinking by the way that the site was described, that they would be higher. I think that under $10 for a widget is perfectly reasonable, especailly if you committed as much time as these guys did.

A minor bug...

Wow, nice widgets, beautiful site! Great job guys!
But a (friendly :) ) bug report, on Firefox 1.0.4, on Mac OS X 10.4.1, when I click on a widget and get it's information, I click the close button on the top left, it flashes once, then fades... nothing that important.

I coded most of the site and yes; it is pretty browser intensive. I would recommend (and have tested it in) Safari 1 -> 2; Firefox (recent builds).

To provide the user experience we wanted to provide we needed to just "ditch" some browsers we probably shouldn't have. For example WIN IE 6 renders the site; almost perfectly; but you can't click on anything :) If your stuck on 10.2.8 I would recommend downloading Firefox; as it renders the slight flawlessly (except for a little flicker in the fade effect which should be fixed by launch tomorrow)

Well I hope you guys enjoy it!

One thing I don't get... these widgets have been out already, such as iClip and Flip Clock (which has a permanent spot in my Dashboard :) ).

This event was to see the website and the paying widget... right?

Basically the pay widgets took a while longer to dev then we thought and we just started finishing them up this morning; with the last getting done (sans bug testing) this afternoon. We decided that it was late in the day and it would be better to spend a night bug testing and launch those tomorrow when we can get in the press and not have hype "dye down" over the corse of the night. So the paying widgets are really the "main event" and they will be there tomorrow for your "dashboard-ing" pleasure.

Get 'em while you can!

Phillip: I see you got some press.

Yup :D

Bad part is we're getting absolutely hammered.

Please let me know here if you have problems registering, logging in, just accessing pages, downloading widgets, or of course, purchasing. ;) Thanks!

Wow- this site is extremely bugged up. I wonder why you didn't just use flash? Basically unuseable on my machine. (10.3.8 - Safari 1.2.4) I bet the widgets are cool though! Hopefully I can actually get the site to work on my Tiger machine.

I'm a little disappointed in the range of widgets given how long it's been in the pipeline. The iTunes widget is lovely (pity it doesn't have rating capability - at first that's what I thought those 5 dots on the screen were). Nothing else has appealed for me to get my card out although I'm interested to see what the picture frame will be.

I think the design is very clever; I like the dashboard style information panes lookswise but not entirely sure of the site's usability as a whole. At the moment, you've got 'updated' stickers on 2 of the widgets but clicking for information doesn't tell me what's been updated. Is it because there's a new feature or was it a bug fix? I'd like a (short) version history so I know whether it's really necessary to download it again.

The Pages 1,2 boxes confused me when I was reading through your services. I expected them to take me to the next page of information (since it seemed sparse) but they dropped me back into page 2 of the widgets. Not what I expected; I question having them there without some message that tells people what they're there for.

I'm also wondering how the navigation will hold up when you get more widgets on board. Are you hoping that you'll become a destination site for widgets so people check you for a good-looking widgets before checking the free downloads at Apple or dashboardwidgets? If so, you're going to need a search tool or navigation categories once you have more than 2 pages of widgets. If it's more of an impulse buy place, I guess people are more likely to browse.

I'd also like some more information on paying/delivering/updating paid widgets before I sign up and register. What payment methods can I use? What happens when the widget is updated and I've already bought it - how will I download it without paying again? I can guess some of the answers but I'd like to have them confirmed before I start handing over details.

One last request - an RSS feed so that I can find out when you've added new widgets without having to come and look.
