To be fair Apple has already said that 10.6 will be this summer. Absolutely no reason to expect it today.

You don't consider the 17" MBP to be a product update?
And at least someone who appreciates said straightness - thanks.![]()

Agreed. As for the iMac and Mac mini product lines, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see updates in the next few weeks. Just because updates weren't announced today doesn't mean we won't be seeing updates for another 6 months.
LOL.. I meant thinking straight.
People buying their first Mac wouldn't have known about this MWSF, unless they are "informed" by so-called Apple-"insiders".
And you don't know if the Mac mini / iMac / Mac Pro will get updated next Tuesday.
But on the other hand, it COULD be another six months for all we know. That's what makes it so frustrating, particularly given Apple's poor track record for timely updates.
Um...what? You do know that a decent amount of the people the come to MR don't have a Mac and are waiting for updates to certain product lines, especially the Mac Mini, one person in particular that comes to mind is iParis, who has nearly 1400 posts here and certainly knew about MWSF.
rolling out really great products in the worst economic time in fifty years would be a bad idea.
You can only be referring to the Mac mini.
And yes, I understand it. It has been about 580 days since the last update, and of course that is far too long...
Maybe there is a problem in getting the essentially MacBook elements into it..? Maybe nVidia can't deliver enough for both MacBooks and Mac mini's, and therefor Apple choosing it all for the MacBooks, and nothing for the Mac mini.
Maybe Apple really is developing Media Server-ish software, which must be bundled with a new Mac mini, and simply isn;t ready yet.
Apple want to make money. Apple want to sell up-t-date products. There is something about the Mac mini. We just don't know.
We should know by now that MacWorlds and WWDC's are not for product updates.
We shouldn't be disappointed.
The thing with the mini is they can't pre-annouce it, it's a stock item in so many places. All the previous updates appeared in the wild before launch, to avoid the need to return old inventory.
iLife 09 is not worth $79.
I've been following the Mac community since before the 2.5GHz G5 came out. Have been an avid Mac fan since. Honestly, I know my way around the hardware & software of a Mac.
Not once have I got one of these freaking streams to display!!
Is there some readme I'm missing out on? Is it sheer numbers stressing the servers?
