The keyboard looks like the ones the latest CF-30 Panasonic Toughbooks have. We use them at work and they are pretty slick.

Okay, that's three new purchases...

Time to get a "I Left My Bank Balance in San Francisco" t-shirt.
 
I just can't believe people.. They packed an entire computer into something thin enough to fit in an envelope and you still complain about the way it looks. Don't buy it if you don't like it. Christ.

there is no built in optical drive
 
now the question is the price i mean this isn't as good as a macbook so it better be cheaper, but i know it won't
 
Nice laptop. I'm sure there will be a small part of the market that will go for it -- maybe even me.

But . . . I guess not every year can be an iPhone year. People's expectations are usually too high for these.

For me, I can not consider whether I should pull the trigger on an iPhone, knowing it will be a while until they are updated. (Unless they do it quietly by increasing the storage, but not making a big deal out of it.)
 
but there will be a $99 accessory drive available that is bus powered
 
they are going to make it possible to install software without an optical drive
 
you can use the optical drive wirelessly from any other mac computer, basically you borrow that systems optical drive
