no one will buy that, way less specs then even a vanilla macbook? and almost price and a half, so what if its thin, its slow, and has no firewire and 1 usb?!?!

its made of aluminum
it has a mercury free display
the circuit boards are Bromide and PVC free

all that for a mere $1799

That's a bit over the top IMHO.
After all they're not spending a whole lot on components like processor or memory or display :(
Plus you probably need to buy external superdrive + you want SSD + external big dis and then it's way over 2k :(

This isn't perfect, but it's a step in the right direction. At least now Apple has a stake in this market, and as time goes by, more people will buy and give feedback, thus the product will improve.

Some people wouldn't have been pleased unless the thing was that thin (or thinner) and had a quad core processor, 128 GB SSD, and every imaginable port in double. Get real guys.

If you can't afford one, it's not for you, that's life....

As my Mum used to say, "if you have to ask how much it is, you probably can't afford it"

what a complet waste of macworld, im angry at apple right now, over 2000 on an anorexic macbook with no cd rom, and no features worth paying out the butt for!

Are people really complaining about the size of the Macbook that warrants paying more for this?

Small niche, unless somehow they put a real video card in there, but I doubt it.

you guys realize there's an entire world of non-mac fanboys out there that are business professionals, and 1800 dollars for a slim, ultra portalbe laptop is NOTHING right?

Forum posters are NOT representative of Apple's customer base. I can just see the business person who makes 300k - 1m a year salivating over this.

Get over yourselves. The MacNerd Fanboy market isn't their target audience.

People will buy it who travel a lot. Plus it CAN run Windows. I can see businesses going for this thing.
