I so want the Apple Home Server. I just converted to all apple products...I don't want to buy a HP MediaSmart Home Server.

hahah

Viva La Mini Revolucion!

I'd be in for one to update my music/media server with 1080p capability so it can run more video in addition to the great music server capabilities (connected to a Lavry DA10 via Sonicwave optical cable.)

suena chevere! Viva la Mini Revolucion! am with ya

I thought this year was going to be exciting like a brand new little :apple: macbook like a macbook mini or something not no iPhone Nano, if there is a iPhone Nano, Let it be a cheap price Apple is getting lamer and lamer

If Apple make the 17" MBP's battery as fixed, they've lost touch.

A typical working day, away from the office can last all day, and then into the night. That's 12-16 hours. No matter how long-lasting they make the battery, it's not going to beat the ability to being 1 or 2 replacement batteries.

C'mon Apple. This is beautiful form over function once again. You can do this to us because we have no alternative supplier of hardware. It's bullying. You do what you want and expect us to suck it up.

I know the 17" fixed battery is only a rumor, but I've seen so many ridiculous Apple design decisions -- loss of Firewire, loss of matte screen, fixed battery in MacBookAir, fixed battery in iPhone -- I've just lost my cool with Apple.

I've been following Macworlds and MR since 2002 and this is the first time I've delayed a buying decision until after the Keynote. Despite the lack of rumors, I just can't pull the trigger on an AppleTV until after the 6th.

The wait has been killing me for the past few weeks.

What I really want is the new Mini upgrade with FW800.

Of course a HMS is a good choice then I can back up my HDRip or DVDRip on it and access them from my MBP, IMac, and the new Mini.

What's so bad about HP's solution?

I just gave up all of my Windows computers...now I need to have one to set it up. If Apple doesn't have a solution this week for a Home Media Server, then I will bite the bullet and buy one.

It must be horrible that another company sells a product that fulfills your needs.

I want Tuesday NOW! I've been waiting so long for some iPhone update news. If they come out with an iPhone Nano or updates to the 3G then I would get it, if they don't I would get the 3G.

Not a mention of:

1- Blu-Ray
2- matte display option.
3- mythical midrange mac tower. thats upgradable.

sorry but i am getting a bit frustrated with apple. and i know alot others are too

It must be horrible that another company sells a product that fulfills your needs.

Do you drive a Kia? Because, after all, a Kia would fulfill all your transportation needs. So why doesn't everyone drive one? Because they prefer the way Honda, or GM, or BMW make cars. It's a little something called "personal preference". People buy products based on personal preference all the time.

It's the poster's preference to buy an Apple product. Why should that receive a negative reaction from anyone?

Does a Hyundai count?

Secondly, if one company doesn't sell what you want and another one does why keep waiting?

If you don't see a home server at Macworld suck it up that Apple isn't catering a product that you want to you.

I think MW 09 will be good, looking forward to snow leopard mainly.

imacs with nvidia + quads sounds real tempting though :)

Just upgraded FileMaker from 7.5 to 9 a few months ago, so it will be quite a long time before I'll upgrade again. 9 handles everything I need to do anyway.

If Snow Leopard is on the shelves tomorrow, I'll order it.

 too many rumors...
to quote Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas..."took too much...you took too much"

does anybody really think :apple: will poor on so much NEW product at its consumer base in one shot?

Just my guesses....

New iMac and Mac Mini - NVIDIA Based - Yes I think we will see these. I'll bet the mini will be missing an optical drive and firewire though. It reduces cost, size and forces people to buy their movies from iTunes if used as a media center PC. I'd also guess it will have display port and HDMI and that's it for video connection. I think they will put the AppleTV to bed and just offer the Mac mini for less money sans the optical drive and AppleTV will simply become an app.

17" MacBook Pro - Fixed Battery - Maybe. I don't know about the fixed battery, but there could be a 17" revamp. I bet the rest of the line remains the same. No price changes. No Apple netbooks.

iLife '09. iWork '09 - The Cloud - While this is a possibility I'd expect there to be local counterparts. I can't imagine these apps as ONLY cloud apps. Maybe as an option but I seriously doubt they will be ONLY cloud apps. Remember how you couldn't get your Dot Mac email? Yeah, Apple is in no way shape or form ready to deliver anything "cloud exclusive".

Snow Leopard - Yup, more previews.

iPhone and iPhone Nano - Maybe 'push' notification will finally come to the iPhone? It's already 6 months late. My guess, it won't be ready this week. I call bogus on the iPhone nano. We'll see.

Mac Pros - Yup, they sure are do for a rev. Expect display ports for the new displays. No Media Server. Also no Tablet or PDA. That's what the iPhone is for.

No blu-ray anything from Apple. Like I said, just my guesses.

"- Google is rumored (unconfirmed) to be releasing a Mac version of Picassa."
?????????????

Picassa??!?! Ever heard of Chrome Google!!!??? Release it already!

Google Chrome is still a little ways off for Mac users. However, if you search "Google Chrome for Mac" you will be directed to a webpage stemming from Google.com where you can sign up to find out when Chrome for Mac is released the minute it happens. Pretty cool!
