would the advantage of the extra wireless power extend only to more coverage or what?
i understand this is an upgrade, but surely theres more too it...apple dosnt make a fuss about nothing.

i just realised after looking at the blurred picture of Garage Band (BTW what is the app below it? new app?) this will be the first time the keynote demos will use the retail version of Leopard with the slightly less translucent menu bar and the space desktop as WWDC06 and WWDC07 used the developer builds of Leopard. i wonder how it will go? hopefully therell be no bugs or crashes!

If Macworld where to be santa, I would like to ask for a tough notebook from apple. Every PowerBook / MacBook I have owned looks like it went through hell and came back. Aluminum casing dents easily and I'm the master at.

"Something in the Air" ???

The rumor I'm starting is that Apple has developed a new application/hardware combination to enhance their iLife suite.

It will be called iSmell.

It will add olfactory enjoyment to the visual and sonic pleasure we already derive from our Macs.

Sales will be slow, mainly owing to the shameful body odor connotation of the iSmell name.

I don't know, but notice the yellow band at the top of the garageband window - that's what you get when you set your loop area to make a ringtone... he might have been showing off how easy it is to make a loop or your own ringtone from GarageBand.

Looping a section of a song has always been a part of Garage Band, way before ringtone support came along.

ironically the cheaper one looks so much better ;)

AMEN! I never have liked the black MacBook. If it were glossy it could be cool, but it is dull and ugly. I MUCH prefer the white and it is cheaper. The Black one makes no sense. Even when you upgrade the white one to the same specs as the black one it is still cheaper!

I wonder what they are doing with Garageband, any other year I would have thought that it may be the next version, but they updated late last year so i don't think there will be a new one.

It probably just happened to be up on the computer they were testing the projector with, or they will demo how to do things with it. I doubt it is anything.

Thats exactly what i did mcfly.
its the best way to go, i get comments when ppl see the white macbook and my older brother has the black and he gets nothing.
so pretty much he sees me as the pimp of the mac world with my shiny white mcbook.

Something's in the Air = TV TUNER on the AppleTV (me thinks)

"Macbook Air" is a retarded name. Awful. I doubt they'd use such a horrible name for the (rumored) ultraportable.

Yeah, new feature for garage band, including the rumor ringstone maker for iPhone. this mean there will be at least 10 minutes for iLife 08 and iPhone.Hmmmm, may be not iPhone 2.0 now

so you get it for free if you have purchased the older model?
is it as simple as an update from the apple site.

10.5 costs $129 at the store with no discount. With discounts such as through a school affiliation it can get significantly cheaper. Then once you've bought 10.5. every 10.5.x update after that is free.

Also if the date you bought your Mac was within a month of the release of leopard 10.5, then you get it free if you just ask them for it.

What if Apple is in the air....planes? Get rid of those armrest radios and swap them out with iPod touch built right in!

Thats a really good guess, n id put $100 on it for a 10:1 bookie.
Imagine how good that would be, and if theres any airline employees on this forum id check out this idea because this could go places.
Haha but im guessing its not Tiger airways with this innovative idea.

That GarageBand pic is probably just Steve giving a recap of how you can make ringtines through GarageBand.
