Macworld San Francisco: Covered Banners, Early Shipments

The GarageBand pic is from the 'booth' so will just be Apple's classroom, conference type things, not the keynote. So I guess you can calm down somewhat on trying to figure out the significance of Steve using it.

Why would anyone "just happen" to have GarageBand open? I don't think they'd really be jamming away behind those black curtains.

Yep. Probably dead on. You will find though that the boards will be so filled with hope and anxiety the next 2 days that anything will be latched onto an speculated about endlessly. Its tradition. 😉

i tell you what there always one step ahead.

we continually sit here and try and imagine the restrictions that an organization has when trying to produce a product that the consumer will be drooling about, but they always win.

soon, it will be the buckets bellow our drool that they will be inventing.
 
Looking at the GarageBand slide. Look at the name of the programme in the menu bar (next to file, edit, etc)

It's too long to be GarageBand.

If you dont like speculation based upon inductive reasoning around the known technology developments taking place then your posting in the wrong place. I am not sure its about winning or drool.

Visual Merchandising

The department in any company that creates displays for trade shows and retail stores is called Visual Merchandising. That box is just identifying it as containing display materials.
 
im calling something nobody's expecting, like apples version of the amazon kindle, which would be over one million times more attractive than amazon's.

Let me speculate: intuition has me believing someday, though not in the near future, if and when Steve and the boys and girls at Apple in Cupertino, California team up with another one of the big boys and focus upon the goal of setting a generation of youth to the quest for creating, inventing computer systems mimicking biological cognition, ... isn't this the type of revolutionary, stupendous and "changing the course of history" endeavor we expect the mind of the brilliant Steve and his crew at Cupertino to foist upon the world? 😎

Hold on to your hats, folks. The MacWorld Expo's of Expo's may happen in our lifetimes. :apple:

Now, I'm not sure of the latest news on any of this, but what about the bidding on the new 700mhz "band"? I had heard that Apple might be interested...that's wireless..."air"...

My 2¢...
 
Apple is going to announce a social network aspect to their new iTunes store which allows bands to upload music and sell it, and for iTunes members to become "fans" of bands and talk about which bands they like.

They will release an update to iLife which makes it the ultimate package for getting your band up on the store, so iWeb will come with a template which allows you to customise your band page and then after recording the song in Garageband you can upload it directly from the app.

This still of Garageband will be the part of the presentation where Steve Jobs and JayZ show off the new iTunes and show how easy it is to upload a song from Garageband and start selling it instantly for 99C a time.

I am mostly hoping for iPhone connectivity to exchange server via MAPI (activesync, goodlink, or BB) I am soooooo tired of all of the emails I get every day asking when this will happen. enterprise users need to be addressed for once. If that happens, then everything else is just gravy for me.

I could see Apple entering the eBook market with books sold on iTunes. You could read them on your current iPods or get the dedicated eBook reader which is basically an pocket book sized iPod touch with an e-Ink screen. Swipe to change pages, just like it were pages in a book (save the finger licking maybe). Have a dedicated switch for backlight (e-Ink is easy to read without backlight). Have it display (and search) PDFs, basically a slimmed down version of Preview and maybe TextEdit for quickly taking notes with the touch keyboard.
 
Best theory in my POV

The best theory I read regarding the slogan will be AIR.

Go to Adobe website, check out AIR.

It's a new way to deploy RIA to any device and best of all, it's platform independent. So, that somethins in the air means nothing else but OFFICIAL AIR SUPPORT FOR iPHONE and iPodTouch.

That Something is nothing else but platform independent Apps downloadable to your phone.

Btw: The GarageBand shot is part of the OS X demo video, if you ask me.
 
On-board telephony??

Have had questionnaires from airlines lately how much e-mail/internet/telephony should cost on-board. Can this be "something in the air"??
