I'm only tied to OS X because ProPresenter is Mac only.

I love ProPresenter! I hated MediaShout. Do you use the iPhone app?

I think I may have had inadvertent confirmation of an iPhone update or new product. O2 have had their systems down for 'an update' all day. Any idea if AT&T are in the same boat?

The O2 site is working for me.

Hope they're enough to get me to stop using Office. I must be retarded though since I totally like Word and Powerpoint better than Pages and Keynote.

Numbers is okay.

I actually really like Office 2008 for the Mac. I think it's an excellent program. I rarely use iWork 08. Whenever I need to do real work, it's always in Excel. And Excel blows away Numbers. Truly, Numbers has a long way to go before it will ever compete with Excel. I cannot believe just how poor the product is. So, it would have to be a mighty big upgrade to compete with Office...

ok, so GUARANTEE of iW09 and a new or updated product, whoop-de-*****-do

RULE 1 OF STEVENOTES, NEVER, EVER EXPECT A LOT. you will get 1 new and 1 updated hardware stuff.

and while on the topic of new products, NEW iPods ON THE 10th OF SEPTEMBER:D you saw it here first kids!!

I find that they're actually quite different programs. Numbers is for those who use a spreadsheet to present some data in a well-formatted and good looking way.

Excel is for those who need to work with huge datasets, and vast interlinked spreadsheets.

Also, Excel '08 is almost unusably slow at recalculation. I prefer to use the windows version running in VMWare on my MacBook. It's much faster with exactly the same hardware.

I am actually looking forward to iWork 09.

Having sworn off any app that can't handle photos and images. And loving how I can access my Aperture library from each Apple app I know I am going to pick up the next version of iWork if they improve certain things pertaining to the UI and design options.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've heard all day. Office 2008 is a piece of junk. It doesn't play nice with Spaces and is missing the features to allow it to be a suitable replacement for Office 2007 for Windows. Not to mention it's slow as a dog to start compared to the windows version and Excel crashes whenever you want to do something a little complex.

Congrats on not using one of the best presenter tools on a computer. I will miss keynote on my next laptop, apple laptops are just way to expensive for what you get.

Wait, so the keynote start in 10 min or in 1 hour and 10 min? I thought it started at 10:00 but it says 1 hour and 10 min on the front page.

Keynote is a damn good piece of software. What's the funny I'm missing?

Yeah I don't get the joke either. Keynote is/was a revolution that sadly nobody really noticed. I haven't used powerpoint in years and most presentations I give at work on the road I still get audible little gasps pleasing little chatter when the transitions and effects begin. I have had at least 2 dozen people come up to me over the years after a presentation and, after commenting on the presentation itself, eventually work in...so how did you *do* that?

When I tell them it's Keynote they all say the same things... "wow I wish they had a PC version of that." More recently people have said "yeah? I've been thinking about getting a mac." Interesting how things change.

My only long standing pet peeve with Keynote is its extremely limited use with "Automator". I envisioned so many cool charts and things you could do with it, but it's Automator hooks are practically nonexistent.

That'd be iWork

Hey one of my predictions,m whoot, I think it will be online too and perhaps some small micro version to edit with phone/touch. But for sure online.
What I really hope for is more depth with iWeb as coming from Dreamweaver flash, well you know, everything looks iweb-ish and hope there are either more templates OR more chances to change things around.

Anyone know where the spoiler links are? You would think after all this time we would have a live feed and not this BLOG/twitter, which is better than nothing but a far cry from video. Depressing.

Seeing a mini with firewire will be shocking, especially if you can run graphics, this means, Steve no longer cares if PROS use it? If this happens then the newer MB will get an update, otherwise, I don't see it happening unless they figure, your'e not too much of a pro on the field and buying a MINI means you won't be using PRO software, again, I really don't see this happening, firewire and good graphics/ Again, it doesn't make sense unless someone in marketing woke up.

Keynote is a great presentation tool that does things that I need which Powerpoint can't.

If Keynote is in someway screwed - then I'll simply do without those things and revert to a cheaper, faster, better equipped, more robust PC laptop.

For my useage - Keynote is the one and only killer App for OSX.

Would it help if I told y'all iPhoto will recognize you? Or would that creep y'all out?

Doesn't the new Picasa for mac have it already??

I've been messing about with it this morning. You upload photos, and it groups 'similar faces' together.

Page corrected

Apple must have just caught the error and removed the reference. It was there a minute ago when I read this post, now it is gone.
