Shutting my iPhone off and turning it back on didn't activate Newsstand. It required a hard reset (home button + sleep/wake) in order to activate newsstand. Give it a shot.

Not showing up for me in the UK yet...

Downloading the Wired app (And free download) and will check this out for sure if the prices are right!

Worked for me :) iPhone and iPad!

In the UK and two soft and one hard reset hasn't enabled the button.

Hoping The Economist and The New Yorker update for newsstand

Are you currently subscribed to any of these magazines? I'm just wondering because I am not currently subscribed to any of the magazines that are currently out, and I've been anxious for Newsstand to start being useful (even if it is another means of procrastination). There wasn't even any sample code for Newsstand :(

No, clicking on it take you to the featured section of the app store in a section for newsstand.

It's still totally stupid you can't put it in a folder or disable it via restrictions. I can't stand the site of it.

Proof for idiots

Tried it and still nothing, maybe its not UK yet

It should be available there, someone else in the UK got it. When you hold the home and power buttons together, keep holding them until the startup screen appears. Even if the option to shut off the phone appears, keep holding the home and sleep buttons.

Oh, not only that, but depending on where you are in the world depends what you actually have available on the stupid thing.

Like iBooks. nice idea, occasionally useful as a pdf viewer, but if it has no real books in it, its no use. But at least with ibooks, i can hide it away. This moronic newstand just stays there, wasting space on my screen.

Proof it is working in the UK.
