I’m actually happy for base models to stay at 8 GB RAM… because my MacBook Air M2 will likely be supported longer 😂

I have no need for more than 8 GB RAM and it’s when base models jump that I know the time is coming that my device (be it Mac or iPad) is just that closer to losing software support

They mentioned it was the best selling all-in-one desktop PC and they couldn’t even bring updated accessories to it.

Just, wow.
To be fair… it wouldn’t take much for it to claim that top position. The rest of the category is so fragmented (not to say those options are bad, just that there’s a lot of different all in ones about).

I’m guessing they are being cheap and burning off old stock before they do a site refresh in a couple months with the port changed like they have done with airpods in the past. Sucks for customers, and also probably means no design refresh coming for a long time… shape of Apple mouse has been horrible for how many years. Ive is not working at Apple anymore. Ditch that thing!

I mean, yeah that’s definitely true, but could they not really have bothered to swap the port on them, especially since they are doing so for the rest of their products?

What exactly are they waiting for, another 2.5 years for M6 model???

The real iMac upgrade is next year, just like the M2 Pro and Max were stop gaps. Looks like Apple hardware engineers need a little bit more time to flesh things out. 27 inch iMac owners, give it a couple more years. Then again, I think Apple dropping support for all Intel Macs next summer.

Whilst it is strange, I don't think it's really a problem. iMac owners are very unlikely to want to take there peripherals away from home/office where a single cable type would be useful. I think the vast majority of owners won't care about what type of connector is on their keybord/mouse so long as the cable that came with the computer plugs into the computer and the keyboard/mouse to charge it when needed.

What a miss, but at least I don't have to regret buying a Logitech MX Mechanical Mini Mac keyboard (with USB-C).

Overall, it's always nice to see the device I use the most updated (MBP 16") so that's exciting, but wow, I was really expecting more from this event. New iPads, updated AppleTV, Apple TV content, AAA game release, updated monitors, a freaking keyboard with USB-C ANYTHING.
