This makes a mockery of Apple's (so called) green credentials. No reason, other than greed, not to switch to USB C.
it's not a new product, so they can happily sell it like that even after 09/2024The European Commission will have Tims head for this
Opposite. There is nothing suggesting that not going to usb c is greed. On the contrary, destroying or disposing of a large amount of peripherals with lighting is wasteful and stupid. This makes a mockery of Apple's (so called) green credentials. No reason, other than greed, not to switch to USB C.

the new EU law says you cannot introduce a device/accessory with a charging port other than Type-C to the market
Careful saying that. You’ll get told that you’re charging it wrong by people. The USB-C thing is annoying, but I think I’d like it more if you could charge the mouse and use it at the same time.
Why would he resign? He’s doing exactly what he was hired to do. Pad profit margins.Tim needs to resign.
Precisely my thought too. It’s not as if they’re BTO (built to order). Better to sell existing stock rather than scrapping it with the environmental impact that would have. They must have a lot in stock to sell...
Oooh, nice pun. This is the same arrogance a lot of companies go through, before the fall.
I like the Star Trek TNG pun: “Shoot at will.”Oooh, nice pun.
Your iPhone ?Whelp, guess I’m not replacing my dying Magic Mouse with an upgraded model with a reasonably designed recharge port placement after all.
Any suggestions for a none Apple mouse that works with lefties and feels like a Magic Mouse in the hand?

Makes you wonder why the regulators are so rubbish at creating said regulations. The fact we're having to rely on technicalities of EU regulations to force Apple into doing things is a disgrace.
This is just crap for the consumer, knowingly selling a 'new' computer with obsolete connectors, and shouldn't be happening.
