i love logitech mice but i had one with the hyperscroll wheel and hated not having a middle mouse button anymore since clicking on the scroll wheel would just change the scroll settings. i'm not a fan of mice with tons of buttons. i just need left/right/middle with scrolling ability.
What about Expose and Spaces? You've got to at least have that function without touching your keyboard.

Picked mine up from the Apple Store in Glasgow today. By far the best mouse I have ever owned. After only a couple of hours of use, I find it extremely comfortable. I have never liked mice that put my hand in an unnatural position, which occurs when the 'arch' is too big. I love the low profile design which seems to fit the natural curvature of my hand.

Hot corners. They also have the advantage of being the same across trackpad and mouse.
Tried that but just seems like more effort than just a click. I do use the top-right corner for show desktop though, since that is basically where all your alias's are for accessing. But it's whatever your working habits are. ;)

I don't have a macbook so trackpad isn't my option.

I just received mine from FedEx, which was undoubtedly more convenient than having to check with all the nearby stores and having to go get it. I am, so far, satisfied.

Same here I just received my 2 magic mice. The local stores here haven't any stock yet. Just set up my first mouse with my mac mini and just love it. I will be getting another one of these as a Christmas gift for a friend she will just love it as she has a lot of arthritis in her hand and this will be much better for her to use than the original mightly mouse

None in San Jose this afternoon, they said they haven't got them yet and won't until next week :(

Why not order online? you already get free shipping so that's better then car gas if your planning on just going to an apple store..

I have a MacBook so I'm pretty good with my keyboard. I can alt+tab and cmd+arrow my way around spaces and windows fine. Expose and spaces are one button shortcuts anyways if I really need it. I've seen so many people grab the mighty mouse and accidentally pull up expose. I feel like the side buttons are something you grow to love because to me it's just a weird button to have that's too easy to accidentally press

I use a MX Revolution and program Expose and Spaces. As well as zoom in, fit to window and some others. Works perfectly. As for the Mighty Mouse that I use at work, the side buttons I use for Spaces and the center button for Expose. Works like a charm but need to get use to it. Once you do it's quicker on your multitasking.

You can use the Logitech drivers or Steermouse or whatever you have and change the wheel to a middle click instead of switching scrolling modes.

Anyway I just bought one from the Santa Rosa Plaza store. They have tons (I caught the guy as he was filling up the shelf with them). I initially had it on pre-order from Amazon but they still have no estimate on a ship date so I canceled. I gotta say the new iPhone-based portable sales system is really cool. This store in particular is TINY and you'd have to wait forever to checkout at the counter.

I toyed with it for a few minutes on one of the new iMacs first and confirmed that I had to get one. The scrolling is fantastic — identical to the iPhone, and it's really easy to scroll with my middle finger while keeping my index finger ready to click (on traditional wheel mice I have to scroll with my index finger, anything else is too awkward). The two finger swipe gestures work well enough for me. Many have complained about the size/flatness of it but I think it's comfortable. Tracking is also perfectly fast, I only have it set a little over half and can easily cover the entire distance of the screen with a flick of the wrist, so I dunno why people are finding it slow. I never liked the Mighty Mouse and didn't care for the "squeeze" button, so I won't miss that; I've been using hot corners for Exposé and Dashboard for a while already. I will miss middle-click but previously I used the command key half the time anyway so I'll adjust. The mouse isn't too heavy with the included Energizer AAs, *slightly* heavier than the Razer Mamba but way lighter than the MX Rev. I'm going to be using the MM for all OS X mousing and my Mamba for Windows (primarily gaming). Overall: impressed and satisfied.

I'm gradually getting to where you are with this mouse. I'm liking it more as time goes on. :)

I can't believe some of you guys are having a hard time finding them. my local store has had about 35 of them sitting over the past few days collecting dust though me and another guy got ours tonight.

I decided to pop by my local Apple store this evening -- Tysons -- to pick up a new Magic Mouse and was disconcerted to find that they're temporarily closed for remodeling!!! There was no hint of this the last time I was in the store, just a few days ago...... They won't re-open until November 21st so I guess if I want a mouse now I'll have to either go to one of our other local stores or simply order one from the Apple online store.

I tried to get one today. I called last night, and the Apple store at RIDEAU said that they have a bunch in stock. So, I woke up early in the morning, got to the Apple store a couple hours after opening, and they were all sold out. They don't know when they will be getting another shipment. I was so disappointed. Hopefully it doesn't take to long.

There seems to be very limited supply, the store near here got some late last Friday and sold out over the weekend and hasn't received any more since then. Other retailers who normally stock Apple products around here have no idea when they might get any.

Called Montreal store 4 times last week on 4 different days: they told me that same thing each time.

Frustrated, I waited until this week...had a break between classes, dashed to the Apple store a little after it opened (10:40 AM) and bwahahahaa there they were, tucked away neatly in a subtle cubbie.

Flying off the shelves, I tell ya.

Checked out this mouse today at the Apple store. I loved it. So cool looking and feels so nice and comfortable. It was very responsive and pretty precise. I used it in Illustrator with the pen tool and it was very precise. I didn't ask if they have it in stock...can't afford it right now anyway. :(

Purchased my mouse 48 hours ago at the Square One store in Mississauga.

For the record - a fantastic experience that is far superior to the Microsoft wireless mouse it replaced.

I picked one up at the NYC SoHo store, they had just opened the box from the shipment that day. I got the first one, and they were sold out by the time a left the store. That particular store, however, is relentlessly busy at nearly all times.

Anyways, t's a nice mouse, feels ok and has a nice heft. I personally wish it was a tad wider. I works flawlessly and looks great. No middle button/expose button does suck, so I reset my hot corners to take care of this until there is a 3rd party solution.

I do wish I had the option to use tap-to-click on the track pad/top shell on the mouse. I've become accustomed to thos on my macbook pro, and it would be nice if I had the option to lock the physical click and just use tap.

I really like that the mouse is symmetrical. I use a mouse with both my left and right hands and the design of the Magic Mouse makes it easy to switch.

It's not perfect, but in time and with the right drivers this will be a powerful device.
