Price of a sushi dinner + tip. I've traveled several countries in a medium-sized backpack so I love traveling light. Still a nope for me.

I'll pack an extra cable. Meh. Can't justify the price for the convenience of one less wire.

Love the idea, don't love the price point right now.

Agreed. As someone who travels a lot, this thing looked promising, but I’d rather spend the 129 on a nice night out than to save an extra wire.

If this had been priced at $69 or lower, it would make sense as an add-on. At $129, it’s a bit overkill.

Plus, it looks really inelegant to my eyes. It feels like a half-baked concept.

What a stupid comment.

Where's the third party MagSafe charger? Oh right, there isn't one.

Charger is not an added cost since you're already going to buy one for the MagSafe anyways.

It does work with the 20W. It literally says in the description:
Recommended:
– 20W USB-C Power Adapter (sold separately) for faster wireless charging up to 11W

Either you completely failed to even read the description or you're cherry picking facts to make your idiotic argument sound better than it really is. LMAO

Not going to argue with you. See ya.
Glad to see you still argued and spent time writing your comment 😘

I have the mophie 3-1 that was more expensive than this and it died in 2 months . I have heard similar complaints of Belkin 3-1. I would love to have the new Belkin MagSafe 3-1 but I am leaning towards this even though AirPods are still not on a slot simply because I expect them to not die so quickly. didnt expect these 3-1 wireless charging to be so unreliable

This should have come out before Thanksgiving. Would've been handy then. Went to visit my sister and would've been nice to have this instead of having to carry multliple cables.

I honestly don't even remember this thing being announced. It's too bad the MagSafe charger doesn't work with the Apple Watch. Remember when Apple Watch was supposed to work with Qi? What ever happened to that? Probably in the same place as open source FaceTime, lol.

Apparently an incredibly overpriced $130 charger is the most important thing going on these days. and if you don't buy it, you're apparently cheap. I'm learning so much.
Incredibly overpriced, how do you know how much it should cost.
And that’s fine. Just don’t be condescending with the “you’re jealous because you can’t afford it” crap. And in 2020 of all times, the audacity
Whatever weirdo

$129 is probably over priced, but $69 or lower just isn't realistic. The MagSafe charger and apple watch charger together cost $68 just by themselves. Now I guess you could argue those are over priced as well, but so is everything Apple.

I bought a dual iPhone wireless charging stand with an Apple Watch charger and AirPods charger. Cost $50 and works perfectly fine.

If I had money to burn I'd go with a MagSafe charger, but it seems more like a gimmick at this point. That's not to say it isn't handy to have a magnet that makes lining your charger up easier, or that there may not be some cool accessory down the road, but right now, its just kinda "eh".

Magsafe $40
Apple Watch charger $30
USB-C Cable $20

That's $90. You're simply paying an extra $40 for convenience of travel + one cable to charge both devices at the same. Perfectly reasonable.

Not overpriced.
I'm sure some already replied saying this but you already get two of those things for free, and if you bought an ipad recently you also got a usb brick or you have an old iphone brick and lightning cable. You don't need a magsafe if you have the lightning cable. How anyone finds the magsafe is any more convenient then a lightening cable is beyond me. They both have cables attached to your phone!

Apple puts out some great things but man, people have to stop drinking the Apple juice sometimes.

And there it is.
It's the same comment about everything Apple sells. It's like they created a MacRumors forum account just to make sure people who like Apple products know they're overpriced... I mean yeah and? I just spent $1200 on a phone and $700 on a watch so of course it's overpriced. I really appreciate the dedication of these people to let us know though ;)

Apple today began selling the MagSafe Duo Charger that was announced alongside the new iPhone 12 models back in October. Priced at $129, the MagSafe Duo offers a MagSafe charging puck for the iPhone 12, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max, and 12 mini, along with an Apple Watch charger.

Though the accessory was announced in October and was listed as coming soon, it was not clear when it would launch. Orders placed today will deliver as soon as Thursday, December 3 when shipped, and it is not available for pickup in retail stores yet.

The MagSafe Duo features a foldable design for easier portability, and it ships with a USB-C to Lightning cable. The Apple Watch charging puck can be used flat, but there's also an option to pop it up to charge the Apple Watch upright. The MagSafe charging portion does not have the same pop up option.

Before purchasing, it's worth noting that the MagSafe Duo is not able to charge an iPhone 12 model at the full 15 watts supported by the standalone MagSafe charger. Instead, it is able to charge at a maximum of 14W when paired with the appropriate charger.

Despite the high price point, the MagSafe Duo does not ship with a power adapter. When paired with the 20W USB-C power adapter from Apple, it can charge an iPhone up to 11W, and when paired with a 27W or higher USB-C power adapter, it can charge at the aforementioned 14W.

Though designed for the iPhone 12 models, Apple says the MagSafe Duo is compatible with older iPhones, the AirPods with Wireless Charging Case, the AirPods Pro, and other devices that support Qi-based wireless charging.

(Thanks, Alex!)

I have the iPhone 12 Pro, but I did not buy it because of the "wireless" charging. I bought it because I needed an upgrade from my iPhone 8. However, this MagSafe charger is really the least bit interesting about the new features on the iPhone 12 lineup. I really hope Energous WattUp gets the ball rolling so we can experience TRUE wireless charging.
