Hi,
For a very long time, I’ve been reading complaints about the iOS Mail App failing to display a notification for incoming emails, especially for third party mail services.
Now that I’ve been using the native mail app for a while, first on iOS 18 but especially now on iOS 26, I’ve experienced the same issue. By default, you only get the red badge count, nothing else.
In order to enable mail notifications for third party email providers, you have to do the following:
Enter Settings -> Mail App -> go to the bottom and tap “customize notifications” -> go down to “accounts” and now you can select, for each one, if you want just the badge count number, or a notification.
