Well that got dark really fast.... I don't think the karma from keeping the ovens gave him a bad heart though, could have been a bad ticker that he never got checked out, bad diet habits, stress from running a diner, no exercise, etc., etc.... I suspect that if they had kept those ovens or returned them the heart attack would have still happened.

I thought they were going to say "dropped one on their foot...", but was so, so much darker that that.
Yeah, but it didn't happen really fast, like @bigjnyc says...after all, @Mac'nCheese said it took years.

And, @collin_, beware...you might have a heart attack or lose a toe or something as a result of keeping the watches. (;

I think you know the right thing to do is contact Apple and explain what happened. Maybe they let you keep them, that would be nice. At the very least, they can help you ensure you or someone else isn't being scammed.

He did, they told him it did not come from them and to contact wireless carriers.

My mistake. I misremembered. He didn’t die of heart attack. But the family did lose the diner. The daughter at that wedding did get divorced and the mom wound up loosing her job due to some racist **** she tweeted out.

There is no free lunch in life. If something is too good to be true... You should get to the bottom of this and move on. Speaking from experience, the paperwork might take several weeks to take shape and if you haven’t got to the real reason, 99% chance you will regret it. Is it worth the 1%?

Perhaps there was a mailing blunder with addresses and you got sent someone’s order by mistake, it can happen these company’s keep your details its how they manage to spam our letterboxes or emails :p

Do the right thing phone them up and tell them you have accidentally received 2 apple watches that you didn’t order but they have your address on the delivery notes and see what they say!

Failure to send back prob be a $1000 mistake on your path!

There technically not your items!!!

Who does he call and who does he send them back to? He already stated that he called Apple and they said they weren't shipped from them. Does he just call every retailer that sells Apple Watches until he finds out where it came from?

Guess he’s gonna have to look at the post it invoice and find out who and where they came from!

Okay, final update. It's been well over a month now and no signs of fraud, nobody contacting me or anything. I have been using one and it's actually been helping me get a lot healthier. Closed the rings all days but 3 so far. The other one is still sealed and I'm not sure what I'll do with it yet. Thankful for this random gift from the universe. :)

Pass the luck on and give the other one to a family member or friend.

I was just thinking of this thread the other day, and I actually relayed this exact thread to another colleague I work with in law-enforcement, and by all means, you need to consider yourself very fortunate you are not a victim of fraud, because approximately 90% of cases in your situation, result in someone’s financial status being compromised.

A while ago I got a nasty surprise when I got a ding on my credit report because someone used my identity to open up a phone account. It never showed up on my report until the person stopped paying and it went into collections. Took over a year with constant bank and forth with the telco and credit reporting agencies to clear it up. I still have fraud alert on my credit report because of it. The headache trying to clear it up was insane.

Also, keep in mind that business credit cards do not show up on Personal credit reports. And when I applied for my company’s credit card accounts only one showed up as an inquiry, the other never did.

There’s still time for this to come back and bite the OP on the arse...

THIS is why I'm concerned!

Have you heard the story about the Trojan Horse?

You’re bringing two devices of unknown origin, equipped with microphones, into your life. Is there anything about your life or career that would be worthy of spying on?

Funny you should mention this, reminds of a story my neighbor told me.... He works for a robotics company which works on many secret projects for big companies.... Long story short one of the lead engineers' wife won a fitness tracker via a raffle at their country club..... It turned out that the whole thing was organized by a competitor and the tracker had a listening device inside. Anyway the whole thing was a huge scandal and is still being litigated in courts. I honestly thought he was pulling my chain with the whole story since it sounded like something out of a movie or tv show, but he showed me an article about in a small local newspaper. Crazy stuff.
