PC gamers ported cheats for League of Legends to Mac to be able to cheat easier thanks to the lack of anti-cheat. For that reason the devs are porting Vanguard 2 to Mac till end of this year to stop it.

Do you think anti cheat (Denuvo) is why Capcom hasn’t done the Monster Hunter series yet?

There are games with Denuvo that have Mac ports without Denuvo. Monster Hunter: World doesn't appear to have Denuvo but it's not on Mac. Monster Hunter Now is on iOS but not Mac. Draw you own conclusions. :)

You can test it yourself since it's included in Steam now.

Okay, I just tested Steam Game Recording and it will eat your CPU. The performance was down 50% so it's not worth it. It went down from 50 fps to 26 on my M1 Max 24c at 1800p Ultra in Rise of the Tomb Raider. The files aren't playable either so I guess you have to use the Steam tool to export it but I didn’t test that. I tested macOS screen recording and the performance dropped only 6 fps and you instantly get a H.264 movie file you can watch.

Another third rate effort from Valve.

Sad thing is, give it say another 3 or 4 years and the Max chip might match a 4090 from today? But it'll still have bugger all games support.

Not really if your following this topic and news. Yes if you want to play all games and latest support Mac is not your platform but otherwise the future is bright.

I have been following it, and no it’s not a bright future. It’s still projected to be but a minuscule effort compared to PC gaming, even Steam Deck gaming to be honest. I just see the same old efforts from Apple.

This is just laughable negativity tbh. Things can exist between “nothing” and “compared to pc”. If you expect the Mac to be the latter, you’re gonna be upset. If you have more realistic expectations then you would be quite happy with how things are going. Anyone can see how much better things are now, compared to five years ago.

Never understand such unrealistic expectations and pessimism. Still Mac gets about 25% of the Windows games only on Steam despite having only 1.39% market share. Three years in a row we've got news after news and nowadays we get AAA titles not only at WWDC but casually spread across the year but we hear the same complaints "too old, too late, too few, too expensive, too weak" etc. Each year we have more Mac games released than Steam Deck Playable and Verified together and that's without counting Crossover/GPTK/Whisky which are equal to Proton and people still complain. Well if you're unhappy there are always consoles and PC.

POOLS can be purchased directly from the following website (bypassing Steam or any other launcher). The purchase will give you access to the macOS, Windows, and Linux versions of the game. Also, there is a demo available for all three operating systems.

Wild to see GPTK as “the same old efforts” but alright

Right, and yet there is still literally a handful of games native on Mac. It’s ridiculous to proclaim native Mac gaming is a thing, it still has an awfully long way to go to be considered on the same level as a console or PC. Hence my comment, it’s the same when Valve brought Steam to the Mac, it had some games but not a lot of interest, then Apple ditched 32 bit support and Valve didn’t update its games for 64 bit only support.
The GPTK seems to be a similar thing, a decent idea, looks like it could be great for devs but its take up is limited. The Apple silicon is pretty good at gaming, but the support is still limited.
