I wouldn't blame him for not anticipating issues with the M1 ultra, but Anthony is apparently the only Mac geek that wasn't aware of the good performance of the GPT. He got poor results and didn't even compare with reports that were all over the internet. Had he done so, it would have noticed that something was wrong.

So that’s what’s acceptable these days? Doing no research and saying misinformation and people are okay with it? The point is, you need to research more to make a video like this. Otherwise it’s just Apple hate for the clicks. I don’t know why people are giving this video a pass. I don’t know why people are making excuses. 5 minutes and you can tell M1 Ultra suffers with the scaling of 2x Max.

I didn't say that.
Then I don’t understand the comment. It should be everyone on the teams job to make sure your information is accurate. Especially Linus being the boss. This video was just half-*** rushed out. But if Windows introduces something to help gaming we would surely see graphs of various setups and graphics cards.

Jesus calm down it's just one video and they already said they're making a followup that's more detailed

It’s not one video. This is a constant trend with Linus and his bias to Apple. The video should be pulled. It’s massively misinformed. But it won’t because Apple hate gets clicks. We have seen it before with LTT too.

For LTT, it's advantageous for them to release one video with half-baked testing and results and then a second video rectifying their mistakes. It generates additional views which means higher revenue.
And that’s the problem I have with their business. It happened before. They have a bias to Apple. And Apple hate gets clicks.

I said I wouldn't blame him (her) for not anticipating issues with the M1 ultra. That doesn't mean I'm ok with her not doing her research on the performance of the GPT.
But shouldn’t we? They were discussing performance. Shouldn’t a person have the facts when doing a video like this? Especially with a team and business such as this?

If I make a video on a topic and I don’t have the details, I would fully expect people to blame me. Because I am to blame for not researching.

Okay so while y'all are malding over a video I have important info

The PC Gaming Show was this week and had a lot of good games revealed among the cringy Day9 skits, and among some of them like DORF and Sulfur I contacted the developers and they confirmed Mac versions are on the way and will release post launch.

Does it fix the issue of it taking 1-2 minutes to respond if you leave it idle for a bit?

EDIT: ugh just updated and already found an issue where I cannot resize it. Every time I try to resize it the application jumps to the middle of the screen.

Seems to be working okay for me. Hung the first time I launched, but after a force quit and relaunch it seems fine. Resizing seems to work. I'm on an M1 MBA running Monterey.

I just had to force quit mine as well. It seems to be working better now too. Not a good first impression though.

I think (hope?) they'll fix the bugs. I'm just happy they released a native version - I was pretty worried they'd leave it to die on the vine.

One of the news in the Metal 3.1 is curve geometry in ray tracing in addition to triangles so I wonder if we're getting HW ray tracing with M3 since there were rumors of it being tested on iPhone 14. According to @leman "This seems to match the capabilities of Nvidia OptiX, and I don’t think any gaming RT API has curves yet? At any rate, this could be a big thing for production rendering with Apple Silicon, especially if the next-gen hardware has support for curve rendering."
