What's the best kind of paper to use?
What kind of tape would you recommend?
Should I use scissors or a razor for more precise cuts?
Do you thunk someone will create a motherboard to put inside the mock up?

Should I start a Post Your Paper iPad thread? :D

MacRumors is exactly the sort of website where readers get so excited about an upcoming product that they will print out paper mockups to see how it feels in hand. Unquestionably.

arn

I'm amazed you can write that after reading back through this thread:

"Slow news day, huh?"
"This is seriously on page 1?"
"I expect this from Endgadget, not MacRumors"

I understand you run this website, 'Arn'? Don't be so arrogant and actually listen to the people who actually use your site. Personally I come here for news, not crap like this. I've followed MR for a good few years now and it's becoming seriously tired (in appearance and content) and is becoming less and less important in the world on Apple news. And with that attitude will continue to become so.

I know this should be in 'Site Feedback", but if I put it there I'll be banned for multiple posting.

In all my years of coming to this website that story has to be the least worthy of gracing the front page. Seriously, what is it doing there?

I'm still not sure if Arn's just having a joke.

Funny

Hey,

1. it's a "Saturday" post.

2. it's fun to have a sense of humor and let off some steam, so i thought it was funny.

3. i was going to say, as a joke, that maybe THIS version has flash! LOL

It would be fun to print it out, and leave it on the table at Starbucks, and see who tries to steal it!

Nice!

I say Good Job Arn ; it's nice to smile.
I am printing one as I speak to show off to future interested iPad customers, that walk daily into our Apple Service center. :apple:

I wonder what would happen if Engadget ran this "story"? It could possibly lead to a flame war so epic that Josh would have to pull the plug on the site.

Well i just printed one for the kid that is getting one. Had to do it at 90% - my big printer needs ink.

Heck, this would have been better to wrap up than the silly picture collage i gave her on her birthday!

If there is no news then why not print something that is humorous? Oh, I forget that there are people who actually get irritated by something silly like this.. I just laughed looking at the post - didn't get my blood pressure raging upwards at all.

And, this is not a news site..

It's called MacRumors, *not* MacJournalism

Rumors, hearsay, innuendo. That's what this site is about. Bring on the paper G5 Powerbook!

That's really going to inspire confidence in the service you provide.:D

ahh, so YOU are the ONE the site should be built around. I was wondering.

you know what they say about people who keep doing the same thing over and over again and expect different results?

just chill some.

This is awesome. I email this out to a bunch of friends, family & co-workers so they could be cool like me.
