I get the feeling i'd enjoy this about as much as i'd enjoy the real thing.. and that's not a good thing.

So if I wanted to use one of these for education would it be able to display flash cards? :)

That's not a real ipad in the starbucks pic.

Also, although I find the paper ipad stupid and childish, the fact that so many douchebags seem to be genuinely angry about it makes for a win.

Keep up the good work, Arn. You're the best mac site by far!

Why would I get this when I already have my paper iPhone and paper MacBook Pro?

For all of you saying "What this is on the front page???" Shut up, there usually arent any articles at all on weekends anyway. I look at this as more of a way to pull a Steven Colbert and wip this out, im going to glue it to something a cut piece of stirophoam or something.

This could be the only way the iPad will ever get a screen that looks like paper for reading though :)

If you print it 1/2 size, I guess you can make a pretend iPhone or iPod Touch to go with it.

Don't know what everyone's getting upset about - seems harmless enough to me

I think this is one of my favourite ever stories on Macrumors.

Now let's consider the plus and minus points of this new model.

+ points:

+ Much lighter than standard iPad
+ Flattens for storing when not in use
+ Ultra-recyclable
+ Low, low entry price means lots more people can have one
+ No power requirements after initial build.
+ Available now!

- points:

- 0GB flash storage could put some people off
- Paper A4 processor not as fast as silicon counterpart
- Screen is not as bright
- No WiFi OR 3G (this is going to cause some controversy I think)
- It's basically just a big paper iPhone

I thought apple stuff "just works" ...

Ok, so I just finished printing mine out but it came out in black and white... what's the deal, sure I don't have a color printer, but I thought Apple gear was supposed to "just work" [:€>

I thought a paper iPad was called a newspaper :)

If you're having trouble waiting for the iPad to arrive, Jess Silverstone, the artist for Revolutionary Concepts put together a cut-out of the Apple iPad that you can print yourself.
So cool. Wish that I had a color printer right now.

Wonder if a grayscale print would work. I could tell folks that it is a prototype iPad. Yeah. :)

I'm amazed you can write that after reading back through this thread:
Dude, take a chill pill before your head explodes. It's all fun.

I understand you run this website, 'Arn'? Don't be so arrogant and actually listen to the people who actually use your site. Personally I come here for news, not crap like this. I've followed MR for a good few years now and it's becoming seriously tired (in appearance and content) and is becoming less and less important in the world on Apple news. And with that attitude will continue to become so.
Yes, this is arn's site. And if you've been reading the site for a few years you would know that arn is not arrogant. Regardless, the bottom line is that it's his site and we are visitors of the site.

BTW, it's not a news site. Hint: The name is MacRumors.

I know this should be in 'Site Feedback", but if I put it there I'll be banned for multiple posting.
AFAIK, the god/mod team always appreciates site feedback.

iPad for the rest of us.
Snort! Good one.

Save a tree, buy a real one. :D
Might just be doing that in a few months. :)
