That is sooo precious. All it needs is a lttle statue of Steve and a votive candle to put next to it.
For Buddhists and Hindus, Apple has a $90 incense adaptor.

A4 is an international paper size, not US letter size. A4 is comparable to the German paper size, which is 8.3" x 11.7"

Actually said 8x11 which made it an even more insane statement. I tried to stoke the fires with this on page 3, but clearly we are the only paper dorks in the room:)

...I've used some apps i often wonder if they actually USED IT on a device because it doesn't flow at all....

speaking of things that don't flow at all, can anyone provide a scenario that would explain a designer approving the iPad's reported "wobble-back"?

I just don't get it. I can tolerate it, if i can find some--even remote--explanation. In the absence of that, it's infuriating.

I tried it, and it works like the real thing! Thanks! Now I don't need to spend any money!

The speaker is on the wrong side using the .png version. Looking on the Apple website the speaker is actually on the right but when you put the paper thing together its on the left. This is how you tell its a fake ;)
Can anyone say pedantic :D :(

I don't want to spam here with my links, but you can make a mini-steve.

How soon before Apple sues?

Apple doesn't care about personal use, but Apple cares if you try to make a buck from it.

Someone tried to sell those things on ebay and it was removed promptly.

My paper/box iPad

Ironically, out of pure excitement, I made my own iPad (a little more realistic than the mac rumors paper one) the day it was announced. I took apple stock pictures of the top, bottom, sides, front, and back. Then I taped them to a box that is just about the same weight and size as a real iPad. I enjoy pretending to use it everyday as I wait to get a real iPad :D
Here's some pics of it:

It is pretty cool to get an actual feel for the size of the device.

It is smaller than I expected it would be, which makes its portability much better than I had anticipated.

MacRumors is exactly the sort of website where readers get so excited about an upcoming product that they will print out paper mockups to see how it feels in hand. Unquestionably.

arn

I printed it out, and I am glad you ran this story. I know got a feel for the real size of the device, which will heavily impact my decision on getting one.

As you noted, it comes across as being smaller than I thought it would, which is actually very cool.

I am not sure how anyone could print that out and compare it to a netbook any longer. A total joke in comparions, given the nearly equal screen sizes, but the much more managable design, size and weight of the iPad, it is a no brainer.

wow I handnt seen origami apple products since 2004 or something like that great to see theyre back :D

People complain about a lack of multitasking in the full iPad, but what's great is that with this, you can do an unboxing video and a teardown video at the same time.
