LOL they would be scuffling, one falls out of the bag showing it's a 14. "Never mind, man, thought you bought popular phones"The guy should've bought 300 iPhone 14 plus devices. You can't give those away. 😂

But you didn't have all kinds of social media and stuff then. You just hear about more today. How long would it have taken to know about this fifty years compared to today? Not even remotely close. Even with the double-digit increase in some crimes, it's still relatively low compared to decades ago.
At least he was just punched, so some humor is warranted, but not when someone died
This made me think of some game I forgot the name of. I remember you could get your carry capacity to some ridiculous amount so there were memes of a guy with a backpack like 2-3x larger than he.Somehow this reminds me of that movie 21 Bridges... sounds shady AF. And if you're honestly going to buy that many, get some one to help you out or carry it out in a more non-descript manner. Maybe a backpack?
I went to pickup a MacBook for my in-laws this past Thanksgiving and we wanted to grab some ice cream in the rather festive outdoor shopping mall we were at but I was nervous as heck holding onto an Apple bag.
I do like to read everyone's theoriesI actually think the serious ones were more entertaining but it’s a hard call. Lol
Where was Apple security at? He didn't even bother asking for an escort to his car.
Sounds like an inside job. Must be carrying a lot of Apple store bags.
Update: How are you able to purchase 300 iPhones instantly? Apple only allows you to buy from 1-10 iPhones at a time.
Funny because the Apple support site says this…So the serial numbers on easily tracked phones won't be a hinderance to that attempt? Come on now.
Slap a promo code on there. You just need a business account:
I think it's more the weight. I he could carry 140lbs, then why couldn't he fight off the thugs? But I don't know how many there were eitherSome of you guys are over estimating how big the bags would need to be for 300 iPhone 13s. An iPhone 13 box is roughly 6.5" x 3.5" x 1". Assuming he had 100 boxes per bag, the bags would only need to be about 13" x 17.5 x 10" if you stack them 2 deep, 5 wide, and 10 high. That is not a huge bag, imo. Not sure what types of bags he was using, but many duffel bags are bigger than that and could handle the weight too.
True. Perhaps they were duffel bags with wheels.I think it's more the weight. I he could carry 140lbs, then why couldn't he fight off the thugs? But I don't know how many there were either
In store, maybe? Or he called the number in that screenshot?Update: How are you able to purchase 300 iPhones instantly? Apple only allows you to buy from 1-10 iPhones at a time.
Math is not your strong point. There were 57 homicides that year in San Diego, not 26, so you more than halved the actual number.OK so I was off by 4 homicides in San Diego. 30 is still nowhere close to almost 500. “Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said New York City finished 2020 as the most violent year in 14 years.”
The top 10 most dangerous cities in America are all Democrat-controlled and have been for many years. Some for even 3-5 decades.
Sign up for XYZ contract, get a free iPhone/iPad etc.Wait. Are the people who are buying the iPhones at this guy's small business paying more than retail? Otherwise, why bother if there's no profit for this guy. Unless he's able to get a lot of marked-up accessory add-on sales with them.
Or he was cleared by corporate to make bulk purchases? In most circumstances these sorts of transactions do not take place. Apple used to have very strict policies on bulk purchases as they were trying to avoid scalpers shipping devices off to China for sale on the grey market. That and export laws being potentially violated as a result. Something may have changed policy wise at Apple, but I doubt it was for the better.
Would have been on Dragnet years later, with the names and dates changed to protect the innocent. But you didn't have all kinds of social media and stuff then. You just hear about more today. How long would it have taken to know about this fifty years compared to today?
Yeah cause serial numbers don't exist to easily trace/brick the phones. Will be interesting to see how this plays out. Seems like a pretty easy insurance fraud setup.
People who steal phones to sell are not concerned with whether they are bricked or not. They sell them internationally online and scam buyers.Yeah cause serial numbers don't exist to easily trace/brick the phones.
Most (if not all) Apple stores do not accept cash so he must have paid in some other way.Idiot thiefs. Should have yoinked him when he walked in with 300k in cash.
Can Apple lock a stolen iPhone by serial number?Yeah cause serial numbers don't exist to easily trace/brick the phones.
Apple has tools to lock all of those iPhones based on S/N or IMEI. It happens the same if someone leaves an Apple Store without paying an iPhone or takes one of the ones that are in display. Apple can make them useless from the moment they cross the door. Can Apple lock a stolen iPhone by serial number?
You can neither track nor lock using Serial No or IMEI number.
Apple's Fifth Avenue location is open 24 hours a day, allowing for the early morning purchases
