I'm outside the US but my last iPhone came with a managed Verizon WiFi network in WiFi settings which had a locked symbol and wasn't removable. It was a US export bought from a reseller, and for some reason it had it (although the network itself did nothing much, as it obviously couldn't being outside the US).
I just upgraded to the 17 Pro, Japanese model, and noticed that the same locked Verizon WiFi network carried over since I restored from a backup.
Two questions:
1) Is there any way to remove it short of factory resetting the new phone and starting it up entirely from scratch? I tried network settings reset but it didn't work. Moving a few hundred gigabytes of data manually would be a pain so I thought I'd ask.
2) Is there any practical downside to actually having it there? I've tried Googling around and most answers seemed to say it's mostly cosmetic, but I do dislike the thought of a pointless managed network I don't and never did have anything to do with, so...
For what it's worth, it's not a profile; there's nothing under VPN or profiles, so it's not MDM or anything like that - just that potentially the previous phone was resold from a carrier so now the new one inherited that non-removable network in settings from the old one.
