I think a special event for the announcement of software like Final Cut Studio seems very out of place. It also seems like most people wouldn't care about FCS unless they are a video professional.

We Final Cut users make up 50 percent of the video editing market, so it is a segment that needs not be neglected. Especially with Adobe updating the Creative Suite. So now Premiere users are finally in a position to compete with FCP circa 2006. If FCS is not updated, many Mac editors I know will seriously consider installing CS4 on thier Mac Pros. I just got the funds to purchase 2 editing suites in 3 months time, so if Apple does not update FCS by then, they may lose $30,000 from me alone. Multiply that by the two other LA editors I know looking to replace thier AVID systems, and that's 100 grand. Multiply that by other editors, videographers, and graphic artists, etc and so on...so it creates a healthy market...and this money would go to HP and Adobe, not to Apple alone if they do nothing.

Of course these figures do not even touch the figures generated by iPhone customers. Sigh.

I hope all pro apps will get the attention they desperately need soon.

Just want to make sure that this event will not have any update on the NEWLY updated iMac...

Just doubting myself, and not wanting to have any regrets on an immediate purchase?

When will a whole casing redesign come?

Most of the professional users that I know would never waste a single minute of their time even reading MR I have two very close friends that are pro users and they barely have time to even sleep! they are so busy editing and producing content. If you are a true pro user maybe your time would be better spent trying to find new clients and less time responding to post on a rumors web site.

Nah, they're just too busy bitching on CML.

Given the report of an iPhone 3.0 preview event on the 17th, does anyone still think we'll see an event on the 24th?

where's the beef

So here we are...the 24th...where's our software?

I hope the "HD Video available in iTunes" wasn't the march 24th announcement. :(

Give the desktop and iphone 3.0 software announcements earlier in the month I got exactly what I expected for Apple today.............nothing. My guess is nothing new until WWDC. The only thing I might have thought Apple would announce was the official dates of the WWDC, but so far nothing on that front either.

...and of course, stocks had to close at 106.50 (-1.16).

What a bunch of nincompoops at wall street.
