Can't say I understand the point of the hard-edged metal 5se. People who post on technology message boards (such as this one) never liked the 5c, but the people who bought it really liked it. Particularly, in my observation, women, who preferred the rounded plastic as well as the smaller size for carrying in their pockets. Going to a hard-edged metal leaves that market unserved by Apple.

If they still price this 4" iPhone at $450 for 16gb, the SE should stand for 'still expensive'.

Should be $400 for 32gb, $450 for 64gb.
This will depend entirely on the innards for me. If it's just a smaller 6s I can understand not pricing it that low. But if they cut corners on the camera, ram, etc, yeah, you're on point.

Apple is rumored to be planning to host a March event to unveil new products, but exact details on what will be shown off at the event have been in flux. An early December rumor from 9to5Mac suggested Apple would use the event to unveil a second-generation Apple Watch, but a report from TechCrunch indicated that rumor was false - no Apple Watch 2 is in the works for an early 2016 launch.

Instead, TechCrunch shared information indicating something smaller but still watch-related could be introduced in March, perhaps a minor update to add a FaceTime camera or new bands and partnerships similar to Apple's collaboration with Hermès. In a new report on what may come out at the March event, 9to5Mac backtracks on earlier claims of an Apple Watch 2 and instead agrees with TechCrunch, pointing towards a new Apple Watch lineup with new bands but no hardware changes.

At its September 2015 event, Apple introduced its Hermès partnership and debuted new colors for several Apple Watch bands, and we may see the same kind of update at the March event. New colors for existing bands and bands in new materials may be in the works. Apple is also planning to release watchOS 2.2 at or shortly after the event.

Apple's March event may also see the debut of the rumored 4-inch iPhone, now thought to be called the "iPhone 5se" to reflect its position as a successor to the iPhone 5s. The device is said to have an iPhone 5s-style exterior with iPhone 6-style curved cover. Internally, it will feature an A8 or A9 processor, NFC support for Apple Pay, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and while it won't have 3D Touch, it will be capable of taking Live Photos.

Previous rumors have suggested we could also see the next-generation iPad Air at the March event, as it is said to be debuting in the spring of 2016.

Though no Apple Watch 2 update is planned for early 2016, a second-generation update is undoubtedly in the works. It's possible Apple could be planning to release a new Apple Watch in the fall months alongside the iPhone 7.

Apple's plans for a March event remain tentative, and should products not be ready for release, there's a possibility that it could be canceled in favor of an online-only unveiling and announcement for the 4-inch iPhone and new Apple Watch bands.

Can I wait until March? Can I? Can I? Can I?... probably April release?
[doublepost=1453513485][/doublepost]I will be in the market for a new laptop in the next couple of months, too. Let's hope that one is released very soon. I can't wait until September/October.

This news is a little disappointing. As a previous Apple Watch owner, I am eagerly awaiting a new Apple Watch that will hopefully solve the issues that caused me to return my 1st gen (bad battery life, laggy performance, almost unusable without being teathered to an iPhone). A full Apple Watch 2 might be a ways off but I don't see any reason why Apple couldn't release a small refresh similar to the "S" iPhone models.

Lets not forget, even thought the Apple Watch didn't become available until April 2015, it was announced long before that.

The Watch should move into the Holidays release cycle. AppleWatch 2 can wait until September, to be released alongside the iPhone 7. I'd like to see Apple really take their time to provide a leap forward in the Watch, not just a small iteration. The existing Watch is a fine first version product but it needs major improvements in speed, reliability and health analytics to hit mainstream must have status.

I assume that with computers the margins aren't that great, so why waste effort and resources.

Well, at least the Mac Pro (2 years old by now) is assembled in the USA. Wow, go Apple. Way to lead.

That's a dumb comment. Apple thrives on the eco-system, which is fundamentally driven by Mac. Remove the pieces of the eco-system and the game crumbles and its no better than **** Android.

If all it takes is more bands to excite watch owners that's easy. Doesn’t seem like anything else of substance. A small iPhone isn't new, it's just a recycled product that shouldn't have been abandoned in the first place. Sometimes Apple has to learn the hard way. Somewhat puzzling for a company that should know better.

As for GPS, they always suck in SmartWatches and they use too much battery... just not worth it, I mean the Microsoft Band 2 has GPS but it's not accurate and it takes too long to lock on while draining loads of battery. That is how they all are right now :\

The Polar M400 GPS has a 190mAh battery, which lasts 9 hours of continuous GPS. The 38mm Watch has a 205mAh battery, and the 42mm is 246mAh. Polar also monitors heart rate continuously, and Polar publishes an 8 hour train time with GPS and Bluetooth heart rate sensor. Given that, I'd say the Watch, doing nothing else but GPS and heart monitoring would last 10 hours considering it has a much LARGER battery than the Polar.

Also, if someone is going to use the watch to train, and then use the rest of the day, they could easily recharge it while they shower, or in their car, or in their office, or their home, etc. For someone who values GPS, there are all sorts of tradeoffs they can choose. Much better to have the option than not. In my case, I would actually have two watches, especially now that Apple allows me to pair two watches with one phone. I'd have a fully charged GPS training watch, and then a regular wear watch -- assuming this would actually even be a problem, which it doesn't appear to be based on the Polar battery capacity.

And GPS wouldn't need to be used continuously. For many, GPS would only be engaged by some athletes when training outdoors, and when the maps application is being used, or with turn-by-turn directions. The point being, it wouldn't necessarily be on all the time, but used as needed -- which when the iPhone's around would be NEVER.

And then there's the battery life for the stuff Apple actually lets you do with the watch:

Talk Time -- 3 hours only making a call (and nothing else)
Audio Playback -- 6.5 hours only listening to music via bluetooth
Workout -- 6.5 hours only using an active workout session with heart rate sensor on

The reality is, nobody is likely going to make 3 hours worth of phone calls on the watch during a day. Nobody is likely going to stream 6.5 hours from the watch during a day. And nobody is likely going to work out 6.5 hours a day. Likewise, nobody is going to use GPS 10 hours a day. So the benefit of having GPS on the watch for those who need it, or just want the option occasionally, far outweighs what appears to be a minimal battery impact at best.

I'm shocked that they are going to show 1 years worth of products in one keynote.....SHOCKING.
I guess they will have nothing to show during summer, fall, and winter.

I wonder what's the next model after 5se? Maybe they will have 5seX,

I think Apple is dumb to release new watch versions along side the iPhone. Thats to big of a hit to the wallet all at once. I am way more prone to buy both if they are at different times of the year. With this release cycle ill make my typical iPhone purchase and forget all about the watch.

I want new MacBook Pro with Skylake :(....
Me too! Surprised the post doesn't even mention them. MacBook Pros are due for a big update...
- Skylake CPU
- AMD Polaris GPU (with 8Gb DDR?)
- USB C / Thunderbolt 3
- "Butterfly" keyboard
- Form factor update?
- Terraced battery?
- Speaker update?
- Screen update? (more resolution / variable refresh rate?)
- 2Tb storage option?
- Color options?

a) I was being sarcastic. At least to some extend. (see further down below)
b) Most iOS users are Windows users.
c) They removed pieces of the eco-system before.
d) I didn't talk about REMOVING them.
e) It's obvious that they don't invest the same effort anymore. Come on.

I've been warning you all since Apple stock was priced at $120. Sell your shares NOW. This company is on a downward trend, and I would expect shares to fall as low as $85.

All I ask for is pencil support in the Air 3.
Amen to that. I will buy in a heartbeat.

Hello Sarah Palins favourite guy. Thank you for the very enlightening remark on apples impending doom. Yes it will go down further but not 85. It's too low IMO.

So nothing revolutionary for the iPad Air series.Looks like I will be sticking to my Air 2 for a little longer than I expected

They aren't doomed by any stretch of imagination but their cash cow is going to experience it's first ever sales decline in a decade

That was bound to happen eventually. No company can grow forever.

I really hope the iPad Air 3 has 3D Touch, Pencil support and at least 32 GB base model. If it does, I will finally have a reason to take my mind off the iPad Pro which has its trade offs and just the idea being a first of its kind and lack of support for 3D touch.
