Apple has no obligation to upgrade their systems the day before we decide to buy. If they decide to upgrade iPadsat random intervals between every two weeks and every two decades, it's their business decision. Probably not the best one, but still.

If I was Apple I would have the Apple Watch classic and the Apple Watch round. 38 mm and 42 mm, in all the colors they had before. They do that and people would buy and buy and buy. And if Apple did what Google did with cross platform.

Um... no. Do you actually have any evidence that either of those things will lead to a successful smart watch? Because we have evidence that it doesn't.

As you pointed out in the quoted text: Google already did that. Consider all the smart watches you've seen in the wild. How many of them were round? IDK about you, but I've seen a few dozen smart watches. 80% were Apple Watches and 20% were Pebbles. I've seen a grand total of 0 round smart watches.

Further, Google has cross platform smart watches. How many of them have you seen? Their theoretical market should be twice the size of Apple's. And yet I've seen none.

So there you have it. Both of your ideas have already been done and did not make products successful. We can't really say that they were terrible ideas or not, but we can definitely say that they don't make products fly off the shelf.

I have not bought an Apple Watch yet, and it's not because of the shape. Mostly, it's because its price:useful features ratio is off. It either needs a lower price or more useful features. Also, I find it very awkward to put on/take off. Maybe generation 2 or 3 I'll consider it.

I know Apple has been getting worse and worse with there press events besides WWDC but this is taking it to a whole new level. Nothing but a spec bump and accessories? I think AW could sell a lot better if Apple would just release a better version and AW2 is hopefully that version.

I'd sell my iPad Air 2 immediately if iPad Air 3 got Pencil support. Pencil by 53 is working fine, but it isn't ideal. No way iPad Air gets Pencil support for a couple years though. In my opinion, anyway.

There are 2 possibilities. Much pricier iPad Air or no Pencil. I always wonder what people around here take to get such irreal fantasies.

Doesn't seem like much of an "event," certainly nothing that is going to move the "wow!" meter. And more Apple bands? Are we suppose to yell "Whoopee!" ? I mean choice of bands is plentiful these days. Where the heck are the new watch faces? That would be a nice option as we wait for AW 2.0 and WatchOS 3.0.

If this is the extent of the event then TC and Co. are going to look as foolish as Steve Jobs did at the even announced iPod leather case, iPod HiFi, and and upgraded Mac Mini.

Hopefully this article is based on bad intel or its an incomplete list and we'll see the laptops upgraded, maybe Mac Mini too, which is, once again languishing.

Seriously? Updating the watch band line up is a thing now? The bands?

You're killing me, Apple. It seems the focus on technology that just works is getting a little diffused.
why surprised? It prob costs them <$1 to make and they sell them for a huge profit.

what? at most they can upcharge $100 more for the pen if included, but prob they won't.
Wouldn't surprise me if they do offer support for the pen for the reg and only the newest of the reg sized iPads as an accessory.

If all the Air 3 gets is a specs bump I am beginning to be disappointed with the iPad in general.Apple should focus more on the OS itself expanding functionality as nothing on the App Store even causes my Air 2 to break a sweat

"Just works" is dead.

They keep selling 5200rpm spinner drives with some of their latest Macs in 2016 still and they have for years now ignored the needs of a computer that is not SSD-equipped.

Sorry, but running Time Machine, Spotlight system-wide reindexing, reopening all applications (unasked), loading the OS and the regular startup items all at once after one ungraceful shutdown is NOT user friendly for the folks still stuck on HDD-equipped Macs.

Nope. Pencil support would steal too many sales for the iPP.

As for the air 3.... I'm interested but they have to take care of a few things that bugged me about the air 2. Mainly the chassis and screen vibrations that occur when using the speakers. That, and a few other little tweaks and I might just be in.

The iPhone 5se is the first Apple device that I'm looking forward to in 2016! I think that this device should be positioned lower-end than the iPhone 6s since it is going to have some features carried from the iPhone 6s. The iPhone 5s serves its position as the entry-level, and the 5se with later technology should be higher end than the 5s.

Are you saying the bands don't work? They work better than any other Apple product!

:p

The longer Macbook Air is not updated/removed from line-up the better I feel about my November purchase, so keep on pumpin' those bands Apple. Maybe new colours of iHump?

I would say they don't. One of the reasons I returned my watch twice was it was pretty annoying trying to put the band on. I literally had to make sure my wrist was on a flat service and then fumble with my other hand to put the stupid watch on.

What about macs though ?

MacBook? MacBook Air? MacBook Pro?
Mac mini? Mac Pro?

All of these are possible, except for high end iMac. We could still see a new low-end skylake iMac
Sadly, this forum is the only place that question is asked.

Why does everyone read a rumor and get upset? This isn't an official press release. You all have zero clue what they are planning
No, the rumors are our clues, and they're often correct. If the rumors were useless, we wouldn't be following this news site.

"Just works" is dead.
Yep. I've had to reinstall OS X on my rMBP and my Mac Pro at least 3 times each so far due to the system randomly breaking. The rMBP still gets random KPs waking from sleep and has always been riddled with hardware problems. IDK, maybe it's just that everything I touch dies.

The Watch should move into the Holidays release cycle. AppleWatch 2 can wait until September, to be released alongside the iPhone 7. I'd like to see Apple really take their time to provide a leap forward in the Watch, not just a small iteration. The existing Watch is a fine first version product but it needs major improvements in speed, reliability and health analytics to hit mainstream must have status.

For starters the Watch has been in development since before October 2011 since its been confirmed that Steve Jobs was aware of the project before he died. The watch itself was set to be released in September 2014, but was delayed until April 2015 due to software and production issues. Based on typical R&D/manufacturing cycles, any new products designed are locked at least 6-months to a year prior to production. Chances are the Gen 2 watch team likely started development by 2013 at the latest incorporating technologies they discovered in development on the first watch which were too late to include in the production model, and has had almost 3 years to develop the new watch using technology 3 years more advanced than the original. I'd say they've taken plenty of time to provide a "leap forward". As for releasing the Watch alongside the iPhone 7, is that really smart asking the customer to buy a $700 phone AND a $400-$700 watch? Seems like most people are going to only be able to afford one or the other, and will save the watch for a later purchase anyway. So why take the spotlight off the iPhone unnecessarily, and potentially jeopardize the watch sales, such that wall street can use lackluster sales as an excuse to devalue Apple's stock?

Who cares when it was announced? It's been out less than 1 year.

Because the media and the fashion industry will have been looking at the same old design for over 18 months by the time the next watch is rumored to come out. That's an eternity in both tech and fashion. And the watch doesn't do anything more interesting for the media to write about than it did 18 months ago, yet suffers from most of the same issues the media and customers have been complaining about since before the watch came out. It desperately needs a processor upgrade if nothing else. So, if Apple is foolish enough to trot out a few new bands and case materials, and maybe a new Burberry co-brand, it will likely be met with a stock devaluation, and negative reviews within the fashion industry, which Apple desperately has been courting favor.

More expensive screen, more expensive digitizer, bigger battery - And all for 100$ and only if the Pencil is already included? Where do these Shrooms grow?
Lmao. Lmk when you understand supply and demand costs of manufacturing plus time price drops. Maybe you need to stop eating some 'shrooms yourself.

You honestly think less than a year will bring down hundreds of dollars worth of things down to 100? I don't think you have a grasp on reality.

I did Google 'flat service' , but the results had nothing to do with putting on a watch.
Anyway, I wonder what band you were not able to put on? I can put on my bands with no problem.
Being a very nosy person, did you actually ever have an Apple Watch?
