I am three episodes in at this point, and I have never been so excited for a TV series after one episode than I was with Daredevil.

The dialog through three episodes is great and the action takes brutal to a whole new level.

Let's discuss here!

I just finished watching and this show was awesome, 5/5 stars!

I love how this show was self-contained but was still related to the overall Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Not so much a complaint but was a little disappointed that [spoilers]......................... Ben Urich was killed. I was really hoping we'd see him in the larger MCU but considering how big things are going to be, his character would only be a spec.

Also, a little disappointed that [spoilers]......................... they never went back to who Sticks was answering to and no tease about the rest of the Defenders (Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones).

I'll see if I can find it. I remember the original BA movie as being pretty terrible.

Nothing like it at all, you'll like this.

Also, the Ben Affleck Daredevil had its moments. It was good until he spars with Elektra for the first time and that stupid pop song was playing in the background. Also, Bullseye's dialog was the worst.

Really enjoying it so far and we're 4 or 5 episodes in at this point (Kingpin just hit the Russians). I agree that the first episode was really good. The whole confessional scene was great. I collected Daredevil as a kid in the 80's and 90's. Frank Miller did a great job with the book and it's a no brainer that the characters of Daredevil and Batman are often compared.

What I remember which could be wrong, it was as if becoming blind, made him a super hero, with no mechanism to facilitate this transformation.

From Wikipedia

Living in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of New York City, Matt Murdock is blinded by a radioactive substance that falls from an oncoming vehicle. While he no longer can see, the radioactive exposure heightens his remaining senses beyond normal human ability.

....

Although the character is blind, his remaining four senses function with high levels of superhuman accuracy and sensitivity, giving him abilities far beyond the limits of a sighted person; few know that the hero cannot see. Daredevil developed a radar sense, which is similar to echolocation.

Thanks! I just did not remember any visuals in the movie for the transformation, like his DNA sequences being rewritten. ;)

That was in the movie, it was done with very poor visual effects but top of the line in its time. :p

Yeah, I don't remember the Affleck/Garland/Farrell Daredevil movie as being very good.

It wasn't, but like how The Dark Knight trilogy was a major improvement on the Joel Schumacher Batman films, so too is this tv series over the Affleck film.

Yeah, the movie with Ben, to me, was freaking horrible.

The series on the other had, I am thoroughly enjoying! More so than I thought I would!

Like I mentioned in the other thread, I just finished the episode where Kingpen takes out one of the Russians. OH Lord, was that scene was brutal! I am so glad this was on Netflix and not regular tv. Between the gore and matter, not to mention the pure rage he displayed. Loved it.

Vincent D'Onofrio is just brilliantly terrifying.

SPOILER below

When I saw Kingpin as a character as a kid, he was always imposing. Now, in a fully realized it is rightly terrifying. It's as though you're watching a true monster.

I just finished episode 9. Pretty good, I like that they went with a more realistic approach vs the movie.

Marvel can do no wrong. I was a bit skeptical of Agent Carter. Exceeded my expectations. Thought Daredevil was going to be mediocre. Shattered my expectations. This is just getting me even more excited for Age of Ultron.

Finally finished watching it yesterday after really going for it over the weekend! Really fantastic show. I didn't even know about it until the day it aired too, and knowing nothing about Daredevil beforehand I went in totally blind ;)
Love the character, could be my favourite superhero. The soundtrack was really good too and I hope they release it.

I eagerly await the other shows in this Defender arc!
