Thanks for your feedback! Honestly, this model seems incredible (even if it’s expensive) but for my uses: videos, visual confort, the trade-off seems correct! I want all tests for this model for sure!

It's not that big one, on my opinion. Please see comparison between my current Spigen cover for 11 and the new thinner Anewsir cover for 12 Pro Max, just arrived through Amazon. The 2 are with same width , while the 12 Pro one is 8 mm longer . I did some tests and I'm convinced I can manage it without issues...

I have an iPhone X and I have never tried a bigger iPhone. My brother recommended me to go to Max because he did that change in the past with the iPhone 11 and is happy about it. But I was reading a lot in different forums and YT and most of the reviews I saw from people going from Pro size to Max size are not good: very heavy, hard to use with one hand, etc. And especially this year the phones are bigger than ever.

I wanted all the camera improvements (I am mainly changing the phone because of the camera) and that's why I was thinking until the last minute to order the Max. However, I am very happy with the size of the X and to use it with one hand. I like also the "wallet" style phone cases and adding this type of case to a Max will make it even more uncomfortable.

For this reason, I decided to order an iPhone 12 Pro instead of Max. I think I will regret more if the phone is not comfortable than not having the best camera, battery, and screen.

In my opinion, if I want a bigger screen to play videos I should go to an iPad instead of always carrying a huge cell phone with me.

I'm going from a 11 Pro Max to a 12 Pro, wanting to try the smaller size. I sometimes struggle with the 11 Pro Max. Since the 12 Pro size is between my current 11 Pro Max and my wife's 11 Pro, I feel it'll be a good compromise. I feel that the 12 Pro Max is too big, but I'll know for sure Friday.

Bigger people with bigger hands like bigger phones. I bet it’s really based on someone’s size and not really anything else.

For me, it's the opposite. I'm a small person with tiny hands. There's really no phone I could ever use one-handed, so that's not a consideration for me. I love the Plus/Max size phones...switched to the bigger size the first time I could and wouldn't ever consider a smaller size phone now, I just love the screen real estate. Personal preference. It doesn't feel "big" to me at all, it just feels like my phone.

I don’t know, the mini just might be good for your little hands. Lol

it’s not so much the dimensions that I am concerned about, it’s also the weight of the phone. When you add in a case, as most people do, your pushing upwards of 9 oz. IMO that’s just too much phone to carry around.

I’m on an 11 Pro Max now and the size is good and fits in my gym shorts and pants etc, it’s the weight that can drop your shorts in a hurry if you don’t watch out lol. I like the size though as I use it for everything now and rarely use a computer or tablet (retired).

My daughter introduced me to the Loopy case last week when visiting and it arrived a few days ago; I love it. Way better than a pop dicey style if you ask me. It a finger through there and you can easily reach all areas of the phone quickly and without worrying for dropping etc. I will get one for the 12PM as well.

I had an 11 Pro Max & found it too heavy & just obtrusive in my everyday life.

Whilst drawn to the best camera on 12 Pro Max (and the weight is the same) I've seen sense & gone 12 Pro - the extra height was the clincher.

Using an 8 this weekend has also convinced me the mid size is best & a Mini won't work, my X was just right ...

I’m 5’4 and have tiny hands and refuse to use any phone smaller than 6.5. I have 0 issues using my phone 1 handed and don’t want a smaller phone. Once preordered goes live for the 12 Pro Max, I’ll be ordering that.

I did the same, and can’t see myself using a smaller phone. I’m counting down the days... 11/6 ready!

Indeed, I’m 5’8” with small hands and have adapted to XS Max. Initially I thought I’d go back to a small phone but I think I will stick to Max sizes.

I think the regular pro will be plenty big

I always felt my Xr was already large and Im coming from se2 noW

and prior to that I had an x which I found too small for its physical size

and prior to that plus phones exclusively

i did consider the max though. In the end even being a good deal, $700 off through att coupled with being $100 more expensive I didn’t feel it was worth double the cheap price of the regular pro for a bigger screen that would be a mixed bag and camera features I’m not sure I’d notice or care about. Triple camera will be cool enough for me

For me the pro max was too big. It was fantastic sometimes to have a large screen but it got annoying when I went out.

I put a safety pin in all of my pyjama pants to keep my phone from falling out all the time lol. My 7 fits them perfectly.. it does take up a whole pocket jeans for the most part. Might be a better phone for the ladies because they can stuff it in a purse or something.

But for when I’m at home it’s great. I have mine in a case so it’s got some girth. It literally sounds like a brick when it hits the floor. My kids took over the iPads and my computer has become the latest victim so it’s what I use till they are in bed.

Just weighed my iPhone X with a otterbox symmetry series case and it hits at 233.9 grams. The 12PM weighs 228 grams albeit with no case but with that size phone I’ll prob just use a Apple silicone case or the Kung fu Grip which is 58 grams. I think for the small weight trade off the better camera and screen size is worth it IMO.

I had the max series phone since the 6+, I like the screen size and you can use gestures to bring the screen down to make apps easy to reach with one hand. On the home button iPhones, you can tap the home button twice to lower the iPhone apps, and now with backtap, it is even easier.

Agree. When I had a 6S+ my only issue was having to bend my thumb to unlock using the button and balancing the phone, but with FaceId this is no longer an issue. I bought a Spigen case to just get an idea of the size of the 12PM and the squared side felt like I could grip much better. Will see.

I'm upgrading from a 7. I have been learning towards the 12 Pro Max, but I'm also concerned about the size. When I went to the T-Mobile store to talk about their upgrade program, they had me slip an 11 Pro Max case in my pocket to see if it could fit in my pocket. It did, but part of it stuck out the corner—an easy target for pickpockets. A plastic case isn't the same as a bar of metal and glass. I'm still debating whether I want to trade off the bigger screen and camera improvements for a more comfortable size. I might have to wait for the phones to come out and see for myself.

Has anyone found that they liked the size of the 6 / 7 / 8 Plus, but have since owned a 10s Max or 11 Pro Max and thought it was too big? I had no issue with the 7 Plus, and I know the 12 Pro Max has roughly the same overall dimensions, but some of you have me questioning whether the weight or the screen itself being taller somehow changes the formula significantly.

I had a 7 plus for years. Last year I bought a 11 pro Max and returned because of the weight. Was just too heavy to use comfortably for me. It always hurt my pinky finger where it rested. The 7 plus never bothered me. It was my favorite iPhone I’ve ever owned.

PS. After Reviews are out and seeing the battery life is worse on the 12's this year has me thinking Im gonna get the Max.

Hello,

My question is simple: Are Apple's "Max" models too big to be viable for everyday use?

Indeed, considering my needs and these incredible specificities, I seriously ask myself the question to acquire the iPhone 12 Pro Max. I have already taken the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Compared to my iPhone X, the difference does not seem monumental (less than between a 5S and 6S+). Nevertheless, it's impossible to know if size is a daily problem. Do you have any feedback to give me about your experience?

Do the advantages in photos, videos, and especially in visual comfort make you forget the size of the phone?

I'm not used to writing a message with one hand, even with the X, and I have difficulty getting it to fit in my pocket. At this level, it won't change me. But it's clear that with a Pro Max, when you take your phone out, it's much less discreet.

What do you think about it?
For me? Yeah, unfortunately they are but for many people, they are great.

I’ve got every single max size since the 6 (except for the X which only came in one size), and for the first time I’m switching to the regular Pro size. The bigger phones are uncomfortable to use in my opinion. Took me long enough to realize it.
