Maxfield - Los Angeles

Just got home with my 38 SG sport. Love it. Preordered on Monday about noon.

The one I ordered from Apple on the 10th is still processing with 3-5 weeks, same model.

Glad I made the drive into LA to get it sooner.

They had a line, don't know if it is for stock or preorders. Didn't ask any questions I was so excited to get it home.

2 or 3 is when the line usually clears up according to the people that have been there and the guards, so you'd be able to walk in without having to wait in line.

NOTHING is guaranteed with their preorders. I was citing previous performance, which has been a day or three wait so far. And remember, once you preorder with them (you prepay), you have to wait, no cancellations. All I can tell you is that they said they get far more sports than anything else,42mm watches are rare as hens teeth, and they don't know what they are going to get in shipments every night.

Thanks much. I'm going to the store and order a 42 sport band.

My plan is sell this or the Apple order I have in case I get them both at the same time. I'm hoping Maxfield pulls through first but if not, no biggie. I can just sell.

there's something about this store getting watches every day or every few days that really irks me...... :mad:

Exactly! I can't help but think that these watches they are receiving could have gone to fulfilling my pre-order and many others... Being on the east coast makes pre-ordering from this store not an option...
 
Waited in the preorder line from about 4-6PM and ended up ordering a 42mm SS BSB. Fingers crossed that it gets here by Saturday, otherwise I'll be flying back to DC with a watch in LA!
 
yep he got turned away. he was the second from last person to go in about 10min before 7pm they came out and said the store was at capacity

I'm sorry! FWIW I got there at 5:30 and was out by 6:30. Also, they said tonight's lime was unusual. Have him try tomorrow? Good luck!
 
Ok, I showed up at about 4:30 and spent a pleasant 45 minutes hanging out in line with a guy and his daughter. The guards and staff were cool as could be. Weather gorgeous. I was then ushered in by a mega-groovy sales guy. I tried on what I wanted--a 42mm SS--and confirmed its awesomeness. I preordered and paid. I got a receipt and a promise that I will be called when it arrives. The process took about 5 minutes once I entered the store.

This sure beats waiting for months. I'll post when it arrives. I consider myself lucky to live in Los Angeles. I totally understand why people are pissed about this setup too.

But if you are local and have a bit of time, this is the way to roll.

what kind of band you ordered with 42 ss?
 
Happy with my watch. When I picked it up at 6:30, there was definitely a line. They are receiving more watches tomorrow, so it does look like a daily thing.

The hosts were instructed not to say anything about the stock but my host was SUPER cool. Before opening the door he whispered to me, between you and me and act like this is the one you want, and if you want it fast.... Get the 42 space grey sports. We get a lot of sports in that color and config.

So I went inside, we tried on some and he winks at me to just say what I want... 42 SG lol. Paid and ordered. Let's see how long it'll take.

I hope they get some Milanese soon for you guys!

Thanks a lot for an advice! It might be really true - a few people here already reported they got 42 sg in just one day. Wish you luck too!
