I REALLY hope that whoever you spoke to is one of those clueless people I was just talking about since I am also waiting for a 42 SG sports.
Heads up guys, I may have just gotten some interesting 2nd hand information (bar talk).
Maxfield has blown through their initial contract supply of Apple Watches that they purchased in Oct/Nov '14. This first allotment was supposed to last for several months (lol!) but it wasn't planned that they would be the only store in the US to sell them. It is also why they have priority shipments; technically they ordered the watches before anybody.
When they re-up their contract; it is inconclusive whether they will still receive priority shipments or if Apple preorders will be fulfilled first.
You can take this with a grain of salt, but I would still keep this in mind before making a long drive out, or before canceling your preorder.

I wonder if that is true. I just ordered one today. They said they should have it in for me in 2 weeks. I hope that is correct.
Either they made calls and nobody is a MR member. Or they won't make calls till tomorrow.

Thanks, didn't want to go on weekend cause that's when it looks like there are lines... But I work weekdays. I get off early, but it's been posted that they no longer allow walk ins...
Yup, you will need an appointment to buy or pre-order. When I went last Saturday, I got there at 8:45am, there were at least 50 people ahead of me. My appointment time was at 1:40pm and didn't pre-order until 3:00pm.
Was hoping I could buy today... Don't really want to preorder, just read they're now telling people 1-2 weeks. Looking for 42mm Space Grey Sport or 42mm SS BSB
Or my number one choice, the non-existent black leather loop.
It seems the 42mm sg bsb is taking at least a week so far. Some people who ordered last week hasn't got the call for pickup yet
So tempted to go down there, but I don't like the idea of preordering and not knowing when it will come in, and no refund...

I highly doubt that comment about allotment was true. Apple chose Maxfield as the sole North American retailer for the Watch, so it's not like Apple is going to say "You're only getting a certain amount and then we're cutting down on the supply." Apple wants Maxfield to get the lion's share of the attention, and that means providing priority stock.
Agree, but still the fact that they cannot guarantee a delivery time and they won't refund your money...
