I agree 100% with everything you said.

Except for that last bit.

That is 100% more likely to shatter.

The tests we've seen online haven't demonstrated that. The ion-x glass isn't any more shatter or scratch proof than what's on most mobile phones, whereas we've seen the sapphire thrown at concrete and not have a scratch. Often proving tougher than the SS body.

No it's not a joke. I have several reasons why I don't want to SS.

1. First gen. Why waste money when I know I'm going to buy the next gen and it will be better. The SS does the exact same thing as the sport. The black leather magnet band looks just as good on the sport as the SS.

2. I'm very active and I use my pebble all the time. The apple watch is suppose to be for activity, which is how I plan to use it. I've been waiting for a watch with HR monitoring. My pebble is beat to hell because I use it all the time. I assume my apple watch will share the same fate.

3. I have other watches. This isn't going to be my go out / show off watch. I have my Rolex, or Movado for that.

Lastly, I have money because I don't waste it. If you find value in the SS, more power to you. This is the first apple product that I didn't fall into the hype with. It doesn't offer me anything more for my money. Not more memory, or a faster processor. Just better glass, that is more prone to shatter if dropped.
The only problem with your points are the SS will have a much higher resale value. Screen will be nice and steel will buff out. Sport will likely have a scratched screen and possibly dented body, thus negating your 200 dollar savings

I don't really care about resale value. I'll just give it to my son like I've done with all of my apple purchases. I still wear my pebble and its scratched up. I agree with what your saying, I just don't think it's worth the 200$ premium. Maybe I'll change my mind on the next model.

Makes sense. Personally, I didn't want the SS until I saw the drop tests between the Sport and Stainless. Side note: I think the screen resolution is way too low, definitely NOTTTTTTT AT ALLLLL Retina. It's retina when you look at it from waist height.

I know you want the watch but don't settle. I almost bought a Stainless steel one last week and I told myself no. The SG sport is what you want. It's still "potentially" faster than Apple. Orders now say July. If I only have to wait 2 weeks then it's still a win.

I've seen all the variations in the store, and feel that the SG Sport isn't the one for me. I've had my mind set on a SS with the milanese loop for some time now. This is a subjective product after all. Buy what will make you happy :)

Whatbhappened with the drop test

Please post updates.. Calls, inventory, shipment status...

It's been a week since I ordered my watch and nothing

Can we get back on topic?

There's really nothing to stay on topic for. The last post clearly stated they haven't received any shipments yet. Maybe today, maybe not. We are all in the same boat.

Not trying to be rude, but why can't you do it yourself? You have just as much power as any of us.

Because I've have done it.. Obviously the message is for people who are at Maxfield or happen to get the information. Think that's what this forum is for buddy, otherwise everyone should just go do it themselves.☺

Can we get back on topic?

Please! I come in here regularly to see updates on Maxfield status, orders, pickups, etc. Not the best experience to sift through petty back-and-forth comments to find relevant information.

FYI, 42mm SS WSB ordered 5/1 at Maxfield, no movement, nothing.

The last 2 pages are littered with the same post. I called, nothing, I went there, nothing. I'm pretty sure if someone had new information they would post it. I'm also sure that Maxfield is telling the truth and is as frustrated with all of this as us. Keep in mind, they don't just sell Apple watches.

It appears the gravy train has come to a halt for Maxfields.

I think we'll know for sure on Maxfield's next shipment. If they don't have enough to cover all of the preorders, especially the ones 1-2 weeks ago. Or they don't have anything left after the fact.

I still think 2 weeks is reasonable considering Apple is saying 6-8 weeks on pretty much anything 42mm.

Fair enough. Any new information will be appreciated.

If I don't get a phone call by 11:10 you can bet I'll call again.
Although, if that's the case then they prob have no shipments today as well. All week so far they've only had the 38 Milanese

Doesn't mean we have to fill these pages full of bitterness, bickering, and poor quality posts.

Still no shipment.
Don't know when is shipment cause it's through fedex
Only 38 Milanese available
Cannot cancel order even if still not received for an extended period.

I believe this is incorrect, it's the nature of the material physics itself, Sapphire is extremely hard but more brittle. However, for a watch, I really think scratches are more of a concern than shattering.

Here is a demostration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwGtotCd_IA

Back on topic: It appears as though the tip that Maxfield has exhausted their initial supply has gained a little more credence. I actually finally received a 42mmSGS from Apple (ordered on 4/10) this week and it has a build week of (18) May. So the turnaround on these watches is very fast. I expect Maxfield will have their supplies restored by June at the latest.

I am guessing that there are no more lines and long waits for appointment times and you can pretty much just walk in now that they pretty much dont have anything in stock. Either they had a LOT of 38 Milanese or no one is buying them.

At this point I rather order directly from Apple where they give me an approx time that my order with ship and it seems that they are shipping sooner than the estimated ship date. Plus you can cancel and/or return to apple unlike Maxfield's

It is crazy that Apple has not sent them a new shipment in over a week.

You may want to reread the posts including the tone your own. There is a lot of "I'm annoyed that I don't have my watch" posts on here. That doesn't add to your discussion either. It's a forum, people can post whatever they want as long as it pertains to the discussion. In the case of mine, it was a discussion about which apple watch to buy when you go to the Maxfield store. I'd say that's pretty specific to the topic.

Or maybe there has been backlash about people who preordered on launch day have to wait 3-6 weeks while a person in LA can just walk up and get one that day or in around 2 to 3 days. Apple may be holding off, which sucks because I feel that Apple made this issue...at least stick by the decision.

I'm curious if Maxfield was even allowed to offer preordering?

How many orders can Maxfield actually have? Over under, 75 per day? People who ordered May 1st haven't gotten theirs yet, I ordered on May 6th so if we are looking at requested orders up to say Thursday or Friday, that's 600 watches, assuming they had to preorder ALL of them. That's a lot of watches.

Yep 5/2 order here still nothing. They prob have no limit to orders per day as they'll gladly take your NON-REFUNDABLE payment upfront regardless of if your watch comes tomorrow or in June.

I am sure the maxfiield's employees are hating this... All the calls (myself included) asking when their watches are going to be in. All the other non-stop calls asking other misc questions.

I used do the ordering and invoicing for a small independent Apple Reseller and I know that there was almost no markup on the hardware we sold. It was usually actually cheaper and less hassle to order using Apple's educational prices for our personal computers than ordering using our Apple Reseller account. I bet Maxfield's is making very little profit off this deal. I wouldn't be surprised if Maxfield's actually paid Apple to allow them to be the exclusive place in all of America to sell Apple watches.

Your waiting just like everyone else. Cry me a river
