Maxfield - Los Angeles

I showed up about 15 minutes before they opened and they had already given out all the tickets for the day. They are only open noon to 5 Sunday's I think.

The line did not seem too long, but the security guard said people started lining up last night at 7.

It is. For some reason Apple though it needed a premadonna to handle the rollout of the watch so that the high end fufu fashion club would desire it.
Apple for some reason forgot that if you make an awesome product, the droves will show up. You don't need walkway fashion stores to endorse you.
 
The fact is Apple flat out lied when they announced there would be no watches in any stores on launch day. It's clear now they meant their own Apple Stores, but intentionally left it unclear so as not to have a run on Maxfield, which happened anyway as soon as word got out.

And why did I just get an email from Apple today 4/28 announcing that the "Apple Watch is Here"!?

Considering its not available in any Apple Store, and even Maxfield must be running out of inventory by now -- four days AFTER the launch date!

Dumb.

they are replenishing maxfield's stock........ disgusting.... 😡 so many of us still waiting for orders made MINUTES after preorder.... but the oh-so-special boutique gets more watches....

Agreed! I placed my order within minutes and still waiting.

Anyone know what time they open? I might take a drive up there tomorrow morning to take a look.

Don't know if I would wait in line, my major pet peeve is line cutting. Something bad might happen!! Very bad!
 
I work one block from Maxfield (and did the 14-hour wait on launch night). I'll take a stroll down there at lunch if I have time and see what the situation is like.

I wanted a Milanese 42 but at #84 in line they ran out just a few people before me. I got Space Gray 42mm sport from Maxfield and my original 4/10 order for my 42mm SS + Classic buckle is still processing.

Awesome thank you! I'm planning to drive down for an extended lunch even though I'm in the valley. If they have stock and the line is doable.

I just called. They said they have some but cannot tell me over the phone which one(s), said would have to talk to the Apple rep at their store.
Also said there was a line but right now it's "not so bad". Whatever that means.
 
Anyone else place a pre-order at Maxfield? I did for a Sport 38 Space Grey.

I called around 10 am local time and they said they had a special person just filling pre orders from the new shipment they got.

When I placed the pre-order yesterday, when they had none in stock, they said our special orders would get priority over walk in customers since we already paid. We just show up with our receipt, no line.

They have been open just less then an hour now here in SoCal, but anyone get a call from them yet to come pick up your order?

I'm sure they are extremely overwhelmed by calls and customers being the only US store, but I am interested how quickly they are getting them out to us who pre-ordered.

Why in the world would you have stock at Maxfields, with a line consisting of people that wouldn't visit a Maxfields in a million years? And that while preorders sit languishing. 🙄 Oh Angela, what a hot mess you've made.

You know what? **** THIS! (see what I did there with the fashion reference) Maxfield seems to have an endless supply of watches streaming into the store where you can walk in without an appointment and just buy one, going on now the 5th day after launch ... this is absolutely the wrong move by Apple on so many levels. I'm sure on one level Mayfield is sorry they got into bed with Apple on this ... who wants to bet this is keeping some regular Mayfield customers away?

Sorry, for the rant, but this ***** is just unacceptable from Apple.
 
I also preordered the SG 42mm, haven't received a call yet or anything. Still haven't canceled my online order but Maxfield doesn't do refunds on returns, just store credit.. I'm kind of stuck now banking on them getting the watch in stock before Apple ships mine out.
