I changed it through the info panel and Candybar, but no joy as soon as I launch it, the icon rises from the dead.

That is mainly because it stores the icon as a .PNG in 16, 32.. so you have to change it yourself!!

But as soon as you change it... it doesn't work.. so :'(...
 
here is mine. Screencapture from the new von Trier movie "antichrist"..saw the "protestant version" on saturday and was totally blown away

I also just re did my desktop/dock

For some reason the Finder icon wont change and I also had problems with the iCal icon so I ended up just taking it off my dock

Hab ich mir selbst aus einem screenshot gebastelt. Hat stunden gedauert aber ich bin eben nicht so photoshop-versiert :D
Hier ist das bild, du kannst es ruhig als desktop background verwenden, es wird nur marginal verwischter aussehen.
Den Originalscreenshot hab ich von google. Einfach Steve Buscemi eingeben.

Quick log out then in will sort out Finder. iCal on the other hand wont change. It's not like a normal icon, as it actually changes every day (displays the date), so it's a lot trickier to do it. Im sure there is a way somehow, but probably isnt worth all the hassle.
