I have an issue with an M1 Air where I leave HDMI cable plugged into the official Apple adapter. At some point after not using it for awhile, I come back and now my external monitor is heavily tinted yellow. Unplugged the HDMI cable and reconnecting will fix it but is there a fix to this?

Monitor is an LG UL600

I am connecting a MBA M1 to an LG UK850 via USB-C and haven't noticed any issues. But now I'm looking lol.

I think I had the same problem with my MBA M1 plugged into my LG 27UK670 (4K) monitor with the Official Apple A2119 adapter and an HDMI cable.
After I turned off "Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off" in System Preferences - Power Adapter the problem was gone.

I’m assuming this is while leaving the computer plugged into power?

Do you mean you "checked" this box? Mine is not currently checked.

Yes, that's right.

No, I "checked" this box earlier because of a sort of workaround for bluetooth/after sleep problems, but then the other "reversed color" problem appeared. So then I "unchecked" the box again.

So if your box was already "unchecked", it seems that you have another problem.

Read over on Reddit that when you share your display over AirPlay to an Apple TV or AirPlay capable TV, and then end the session, the issue fixes itself temporarily. This worked for me over USB-C. Gives me hope that this can be fixed in software.

Still a display and adapter issue. And my screen is yellow just like that thread on Reddit.

Using the official Apple AV adapter. This happens after coming back to the laptop after not using it for awhile during the day or overnight. External monitor is an LG UL600.

That's exactly what my LG 27UK670 monitor looked like.

Hi!, good morning.

I have a M1 Macbook Air and a LG 27UK850 monitor.

I have 2 issues:

1.- USB-C to USB-C is not working.
The Mac doesn't recognize the monitor.
Did someone find a solution for this issue?
2.- Washout colors.
The colors in my monitor were really bad.
I found this program: Gamma Control
You can buy it on Mac Store or in it's web.
You can configure colors and gamma.
Even you can export an ICC profile later.
At least, until LG or Apple provide a solution this can be used and it works.

Same issue here, but I'm using a different monitor, a Xiaomi Ultrawide 34" 2K monitor, running at 144hz.

At the same display there's a PC connected, via displayport to displayport and the colors and blacks are perfect, specially blacks are deep and not greys.

The M1 Mac Mini is connected via USBC---DisplayPort, single cable and since the first start I had hard times to find a decent profile and setup and still I haven't found one...

Yeah...mine was already unchecked...I actually checked it now and will try it for awhie and see. I think when I have it plugged into the power supply permanently, it would make sense not to turn it off or sleep the machine.

It's a shame that the problem has persisted for 2 months with zero information from either company. I have an entire office full of these LG monitors. We bought a single M1 Macbook Pro as a test to see if we could do all of our development work on these new machines. Performance-wise everything is great. However, overall, these Macs fail because there is no way I am buying 16 new monitors just to switch to M1 Macs.

This is a very long thread, and there are many more like it on MacRumors, Reddit, the Apple Support site, and others. It does not appear that Apple or LG are doing anything about it, as the responses from Apple on the Support site are mostly confusing troubleshooting tips that have already been tried and posted in these forums.
