MBP or MB ( its killing me)

Go with the macbook, honestly the macbook pro is just too much for your needs. That doesn't mean in anyway that you're getting a subpar machine. The macbook is a great computer that's done everything i've thrown at it without any trouble. I play games (unreal tournament, halo), go on the internet, type up essays/assignments, create presentations, and i've seriously not once regret that i've gotten a macbook instead of a macbook pro. The macbook pro, imo, is for people who want to do a lot of video editing and for intense gaming (well, as intense as it can get for macs), and i've talked a lot of people who have macbook pro's and use it for nothing more then listening to music, internet, and typing up notes and such for school. I ask them why they went for the MBP instead of the MB and the answer is usually "cuz I could afford it" or "the bigger screen". Is it worth an extra 500-800 dollars for a bigger screen when, if u really want, you could buy an external monitor for half the price? or wouldn't you want to save some cash instead of spending it for a machine with the best specs which you won't even use to its full extent, just because you could? That's up to you to decide.
 
If they do update the MBP soon and its a new cool feature that the MB doesnt have I would probably go for the new feature...but gadgets are my weakness what can I say
 
I've had both the Blackbook and a 15" MBP and I'm now back on a Macbook. The Macbook (IMHO) is the best value in Notebooks, Period! I know you don't plan on editing video but even if you did, it does that GREAT! Remember, this machine is way more powerful than a Powerbook that Video Editing Pro's were using just a couple of years ago for mobile editing. The integrated graphics does limit it on a program like Motion and for 3d intensive games but these are two things that you may not need or care about. Also, the Macbooks are far more durable which should be a consideration for any notebook owner. The MBP I had had an object drop on it's corner from about a foot away and it left a HUGE dent in the aluminum. That dent led to the top case separating all the way around the bottom half. The MacBook is much more suited for the abuse of being thrown in and out of a bag or backpack. Just my 02.

This is actually the main reason why I'm waiting for the MBP update just in case. Speed bumps don't really concern me, backlight keyboard is just a bonus really. If the MBP had the MB keyboard it'd be perfect (for me).

Sadly, I'm pretty sure this won't be updated until later in the year at the earliest.. but I can hope :)
 
I really want to see this update so I can finally go a buy this computer. If the MBP had the mb key board it would love it.

Let's not kid ourselves. After seeing those ridiculous threads you made over and over, I doubt you'll ever get one.
 
First get through Senior year of High School, then think about College. :)

Med Student, I think you are a FEW years off.
 
Ha ha you guys are amusing me. Anyway I am going to wait till the MBP comes out and then go for it. so lets stop all this BS. I apologize for my rant, it must be annoying, I was just so frustrated. Thanks for everything guys.

And many others would be disappointed as they prefer the MBP keyboard.

In fact today, I just did a typing test for someone considering getting a MB or MBP. They chose the MBP keyboard hands down.

...also they disliked the glossy screen of the MB and preferred the matte screen of the MBP. Note, this is a possible switcher.

Yes, numerous threads starts by the same person covering the same topic does get a bit old and annoying for sure.

The keyboard preference as to go with the current MBP keyboard or the MB/MBA/iMac type keyboard will create another pros and cons. More or less the same with the glossy/matte screen. :D:D

Personally I like the MBP keyboard better. To the OP, just get whatever you feel like getting :):)

yea im just so bored cuz its my last semester in college. I haven't too much to do so im just waisting time. Hey, my gf calls me an energizer bunny cuz i keep going and going and going.......... God I hate this IBM laptop it's so slow

In addition, with all the lovely threads you've started and all the replies, I think you should have gleaned plenty of advice by now and so your other threads can rest at peace, too. :)
