- Sun nite : ordered via phone
- Wed 7am: Received an acknowleged email that they are processing my order
- Wed 12pm: Credit card company charged for payment
- Wed 4pm: MBP shipped via Purolator! Will be delivered tomorrow!!!!! :D:D:D

Don't worry I am exacly the same as you, first mac and very anxious to press that power button, not sure where from mine is shipping unfortunatly but I took the fast shipping.

I'm a first :apple: user too! Had enough of Windows. Decided to break free from pc-world.

Well it shipped from China during the night delivery is scheduled on UPS for the 8th. Even though they updated the MBP last night, I don`t think I would have payed 250$ for a 200mhz upgrade. I might buy a desktop soon, I just hope they come out with a small tower, or if they introduce a new baby that is a mix between the Mac Mini and the Mac Pro.

EDIT: Now apparently the package got to the airport too late and it will take a day more for it to get on the plane. With fast shipping I am going to get it about 10 buisiness days after I ordered it, is that normal to take this long with fast shipping and no added options (except the glossy screen)?

MB Delivery time?

I'm a convert from PC to Mac, and I'm buying my first macbook, (not a pro- too expensive!)

I bought it online on Tuesday, and this morning the status changed to "prepared for shipping."

Any idea as to when you think it will arrive? The guy at the Apple call center said it would be Monday, as it will be coming from overseas, but I'm hoping he's wrong- I want to play with it!

Has anyone been experiencing faster shipping times? Should I look for it on Saturday (as I'm hoping) or Monday?

If its prepared for shipping...Monday or Tuesday. Mine was prepared for shipping for a couple of days..then it camped in China for nearly two days before it was officially "in transit"

Just placed an order for my MBP :D

Order placed on 11/1/07 @ 12:45PM PST

Mine is BTO with the 200GB-7200RPM hard drive.

Says estimated 2 - 3 weeks.

I'll keep track of how long it takes.

I ordered mine Sunday evening and selected the free shipping. It just arrived in Anchorage, AK about an hour ago...I too have been checking about once an hour. I went to FedEx's ground shipping maps and it says from there to pretty much anywhere in the contiguous US takes 7+ days...oh joy! It's my first Mac...I'm so excited! :D

200GB?

Update on mine - even though I paid for 2-3 day shipping and it shipped on Wednesday, it's coming on Monday! Oh well, whatever.

Oh, and the 200GB 7200rpm upgrade is interesting, does anyone know if it costs more than the 160GB 7200rpm upgrade used to?

the 200G 7200rpm costs the same as the 160G 7200rpm. I'm so kicking myself right now, mine just cleared Alaska and its already been booted from top of the line to the bottom. Booz I was all excited about my 2.4G 160G 7200rpm :(

it's on its way!

Just ordered my spankin' brand new 2.2 SR Macbook and LogicExpress 8 at 1:16PM today (an hour ago) at Apple Singapore! Already been shipped and should be here today around 6PM. It's my very first Mac! *IS EXCITED* :D

Apple Singapore ships + delivers so quickly it's insane.

Update: I got my Macbook about an hour ago at 6:30PM it's up and running beautifully. Ohyeah!

the speed bump is nice. the mb and mbp will be set well apart when the 2.6 is standard.
Here is a look towards the quad era.

I got the shipping confirmation e-mail at midnight...didn't get it until I woke up.
Shipped from Shanghi at 10:40 this morning (the time change is crazy!)
Monday sounds like a good bet...then I can finally throw this Dell in the trash!

Okay...so it said 7+ days from Anchorage...but it's already in town. They tried to deliver it to my apartment at 9 this morning, but they can't leave an "international" package with the apartment office. I'll be picking it up at the local FedEx location after work! WOO-HOO!!!

I'm so jealous, mine went from Anchorage to IN to TN and I lost hope of seeing it until monday. I'm in florida and the last one only took 2 days but this one for whatever reason is shipping much slower.

ordered right at midnight Oct 28th

scheduled delivery for monday the 5th

they tried delivering it today but i wasnt awak this morning!! going to pick it up at fedex in a couple hours :D

I stayed home for two days as Apple's notification email told me that's roughly when it would be delivered. Finally gave up on the second day and called Purolator. They said it's in Toronto and it can only be delivered on the third day (today). But I'll be at work. So, maybe they could deliver it to my work address instead as I'm sure I wont be home to receive it. But..NO, they cant as "the shipment is not on the the truck to the shipping address yet"...??

So, I just have to hope they returned it to a dropoff location near where I live so I can use it this weekend! ;)

ps: UPS has been great. I missed them by a hair (was home all day and then out walking the dog for 5 mins when I saw the truck go by!). They send it to my work address early this morning! New printerrrrrrrrrrrr

Update!

Got a notification from apple for my 15" MBP.
Estimated shipping date is now Nov. 22.

This is gonna be a long and agonizing wait...:p

I hear ya, I just flipped off my monitor when I realized my baby is STILL in freaking Memphis. Le sigh..Apple why must you toy with my emotions :(

It`s been 8 days (6 working days) and my computer is in Canada but it`s about 13h of drive from where I live and it`s been there for like 4 days without any movement (it was at the storage a day before, they tried to ship it and they apparently missed the flight, and now nothing since yesterday), talk about fast shipping. Minimum 2 days before I get it but I think I might get it on friday, in time for the long weekend.

I have the exact same configuration (only added glossy screen) and received this notification today. It's funny how the packages seem to arrive late from the shipper (in UPS China) and I like how UPS blames it on Apple as to why it could be late. We have no idea whether Apple delivered it to UPS well before the deadline, therefore UPS can just make up any excuse if they are running behind without us knowing.

I also saw an exception on the UPS tracking where the plane needed to be offloaded(?) and the shipment will now be at least a day late. Booo for UPS.

Well I just received good news, my mom called me and told me she had received a big package at work with my name on it. I had put a note on the door at my house to have the package brought to my mom`s workplace or to simply call me. The guy told my mom, last time I delivered (a week ago) there was a message to have the package put on the garage, my mom looked at him and she said, yeah well this one is a computer so there is no way we are putting this one in there, especially with Atlantic Canada cold temperatures. I guess I will be playing with my new baby tonight, to bad I have a reunion at 7h, I just hope it`s not a long meeting. Weird thing is that the UPS tracking number is still saying the package was imported in the Ontario Canada storage yesterday and not put on the plane. Oh well... Go Apple for the nice product, boo UPS for tricking me.

UPS tracking still has the following message (has been stuck there for 2 days now): THE AIRLINE OFF-LOADED PACKAGES CAUSING A DELAY.

I mean, load the packages onto another plane then already! Just because the stuff was off-loaded doesn't mean it should just sit and wait for 2 days (unless it was shipped but the tracking status has not been updated). I would have prefered that Apples shipped via FedEx rather than UPS, we'll see how long it takes.
