MBP Shipping times - faster than expected

how long should it take?

I ordered the black macbook as a gift on tuesday at noon from my university's computer store (also had to bug them to finally give me leopard for my MBP). Any idea the est delivery date, since I have no tracking number. I'm hoping for early next week, or at least before thanksgiving.

Nov. 22 "ships by" date for 2.6 MBP's

I have just checked on the apple website, and the delivery times for the 2.6 CPUs ( and for the 200 gig hd) is now 5 to 7 working days! I assume our computers will soon be ready... Rahhhhh!

I'm not getting a good feeling about the Nov. 22 "ships by" date for all us folks waiting for 2.6 MBP's. Maybe I'm so used to Macs shipping well before the original promise date as has always been the case in the past. Phone conversation with Apple was not encouraging: again, usually this close to ship date they have some schedule details, but today they had none. I guess we'll know in 4 days.

Could be that they expect(ed) a shipment of 2.6's on a specific date, and are working from there.

My ship date is set to the 26th....Im so hoping they can ship it before that, the wait is killing me. I cant get as much work done because im stuck surfing these forums and checking my order status...LOL

*Update*

Ordered my MBP 2.4 w/200GB HDD on Nov.1

Received the MBP on Nov. 15th. I didn't get a chance to open it up until last night because my brother in law was getting married. I was a bit disappointed when I saw the OS X Leopard CD. But it only took about an hour to install the new OS. All is good now after about two hours of updating and installing my programs!

When was your shipping/delivery dates quoted when you placed your order? Did it come right on time or early?

Got mine early too! I placed my order on November 6th for a 2.4ghz MBP with an upgraded HD to the 200GB 7200 rpm drive. My ship time was quoted as Nov 27th, delivery of Nov 29th. Imagine my surprise when I got an email on Nov 12th saying it had shipped. The expected delivery was Nov 15th, but it actually got here Nov 14th. I've been giddy as a school girl ever since.
