My me.com address is also already active. Have not tried my aliases yet. My understanding of the situation is that we will be able to continue to use our mac.com addresses along side our me.com addresses. For those asking about getting out from under the pile of spam you may have acquired over the years, it seems to me that you could just create a rule in mail saying that anything coming to mac.com should be trashed, deleted, bounced, etc. In my case, since I also have a yahoo, aim, msn, and google email accounts, I don't get all that much spam to my main account and so will continue to use mac.com as long as it lets me do so.
