I spot him online sometimes, he comes into IRC and shows up in iChat sparingly.

KT's still around, although not on these forums as much. I still talk to her (and the occasional drunken vidchat) regularly.

Sometimes real life gets in the way of the internet.

That, and people move onto different internets.



This thread has me all nostalgic, reminding me of all the cool people who have vacated these forums. Thankfully I still keep in touch with most of them that I care about through other means. MR has gone through a lot of changes in the 6 years I've been here and I've sat through it all, but most of the new crowd interests me less, far less so than others have in the past. I'm bored.

It was just an avatar/sig theme that appeared to be a bigger deal that it actually was, which is kind of what's funny about it. Still, when I see photos of Keira on magazines in shops I always point it out to him "look, there's your old girlfriend!" I can't help myself.

Why not create something or do something, your just a Voyeur to an internet forum, I'm sure you could do something positive for some old folks near you?

Or learn to programme, rebuild a car, wash cars, cut lawns, learn a language.

Do many members get banned? I saw a thread yesterday called What you HATE about Macs (or something) and the guy who started it has been banned. I assume for starting the thread that looks at the bad things about Macs.

I've noticed these forums are quite militant and people's innocent comments get edited and deleted. I remember recently one of the moderators edited someone's post for quoting all of the previous post (which wasn't exactly long).

And there's also moderators closing posts within seconds with a rather rude "Already covered, search next time" or something similar.
