My tiny wrists are 50mm wide and I really want the 42mm, but I feel like it would look ridiculous. I'd love the larger screen, but I think the 38mm would just look better.

Ditto. Even after they're regularly available, I don't think I'll be able to go into a store to see them.

My only other option is that a coworker is for sure getting a 38mm SS. But if either of our shipping times are delayed, I might not be able to return in enough time.

I think I will go 38mm and be happy. I have a garmin watch that nearly matches the 38mm perfectly (a bit wider) and I like the way it looks. I'm just curious if the screen will be too small.

This is ridiculous. With a little over an hour left, and I can't decide which size to pick after I SWORE I was 100% decided on the 42.

My wrist size is approximately 170mm circumference with 55-58mm across

I was watching the WSJ video review just now, and the 42mm model looks just fine on the reviewer. I'm pretty sure I'm bigger than this guy, so I'm thinking the 42mm will be fine on me as well.

The link one is more forgiving if the size is a little off. The milanese is not forgiving at all

60mm wrist width. I'm going with the 38mm. Golden ratio says slightly over 37mm, so the 38mm will look perfect.

Today, some people have gotten used to wearing oversize watch, so their perspective have been distorted.

I have a G-Shock for when I exercise, and it's slightly larger than the 42mm, but I still prefer the 38mm for the Apple Watch. It'll look better in a suit.

You can always go by the golden ratio. Take your wrist width and multiply it by 0.618. Whichever number it's closer to, that watch will likely fit you better. In this case, 55 * 0.618 = 3.399, which is closer to 38mm.

I'm leaning towards to 38mm right now. I'm 70/30

If it helps you, I was 100% on the 42mm up until this evening because I prefer the larger screen size. My wrist is 155mm in circumference and 55mm across (tiny wrists). Given this and the golden ratio, it makes complete sense to go with the 38mm. As a result, I'll be going with the 38mm.

I wanted the larger screen as well, but after seeing all these pictures, I don't want the screen covering my whole wrist. I think I'll be joining you with the 38mm

It probably doesn't help you at all but I have very similar sized wrists and I am going with 42mm. I like the big watch look and when I did the printouts the 38mm some how made my wrist look even smaller.

NO! I'm not changing my mind again!

I do kind of think it depends on the bands a little too. The link/sport bands seem to be more forgiving than the leather bands. The lugs seem to come out further on those from what I've seen

My initial gut reaction from the spring forward event has always been to get the 38mm (because I always prefer smaller watches), but since then I convinced myself that the 42mm would be better option after doing the print outs, etc. I also wanted more screen real estate and the battery life. I have ~172mm wrist / 63.5mm across.

Now, after seeing the real life pictures from members with similar wrist sizes, I think my initial gut reaction and preference for the 38mm makes more sense.

I was going to go with a sport, but now that I'm dropping down to 38mm....the stainless with sport band at $549 seems so tempting.

36 mins left and I am all confused all over again...

For anyone with similar wrists, I just made some cutouts

Definitely going with the 38mm

I'm voting for the 42mm. Only because my wrist is 75mm wide so I think it'll be the best fit. I really don't think the sizes of the watches are anything to do with being a man or a woman.

I just did the same thing. 175/57 are my non-scientific measurements. It just seems like the 38mm fits my wrist, where the 42mm looks slightly oversized.

I could get away with the 42...argh this sucks. Why can't I just have monster wrists or tiny ones!

Same for me. Only disappointing thing is that I put a white 42mm in my fav right before the store went down! The 38mm shots on the last page or so really sold me.

Lol, I put the 42mm in my favorites as well! I just hope I can navigate the page fast enough to order a 38mm... Less than 30 minutes until preorder time!

I had don't all this a week and a half ago. After reading this it's making me second guess. I actually upped the band to the ss link because that is more forgiving (and it looked good on the journalists who reviewed it)

Well a lot of the 42mm pics look bulky. There is a set of pics a few pages back from a guy with similar sized wrists and I think the 38 looked much better. But the nerd in me is saying "bigger is better!"

Both are going to bulky with a 10mm depth. The size of the 42mm may actually make the watch appear a little thinner in proportion. Just something to consider
