Guys

We are consuming bandwidth, storage space and who knows what else. The iPhone 4 is not the first and certainly not last product to have issues. Either return the phone or get the case. What is the big deal?

The big deal is that the CEO of the company that makes the phone and, by extension, the company itself, has no understanding of the problem, that his customer base is affected by it, that it's not a cheap phone in a bad economy and that he's perfectly content to drift right past it like it doesn't exist. I listened to what he said and the problem with the iPhone 4 does NOT affect any other phone, smart or not. The problem with the capacitance of the hand detuning the antenna slightly is what he addressed and isn't a huge problem. That you can bridge the gap between the antenna and a chunk of stainless steel and immediately and completely lose the signal IS the problem and there was nothing mentioned of it. He doesn't get it. Apple doesn't get it. That's the big deal.

Secondly, Apple cut deals with certain 3rd party software vendors to restrict some functions of their software only to iPhone. If you use some of that functionality on a daily basis, how are you expected to simply return it? The suggestion of returning it when these deals are in place is simply ignorant. In fact, I'd take it a step further and suggest that if that's Apple's response, returning the phone is out of the question for anyone who's paid money for anything from the app store, restricted functionality or not, unless you get back every dime for every application that cost you money.

"iPhone 3GS. There, problem solved"? If I'm not going to be buying anything further from a company as clueless as Apple appears to be, why would I want a 3GS?

have you even SEEN a bumper? Its molded plastic, ringed in rubber, perfectly cut to the phone, with out a doubt the MOST ACCURATE cuts I have ever seen on a case, and I've bought a lot

And to top it all off, real stainless steel buttons on the case itself cover the sleep/wake and volume rockers

worth $30? maybe not
Cheap? Definitely not.
It has the best build and design of any case I've seen

You haven't seen many cases then...

Yeah Steve Jobs is gonna care you did this and invite you to dinner.

I could care less about Steve Jobs, personally. I'm pissed at him about his Apple TV neglect and a bunch of other issues. You're missing the point. We need to encourage Apple, not discourage them.

I'm not on their side. Steve went up there and spread a bunch of bs to appease the stupiest of Apple customers. Taking the money will make Apple less likely to male the decision "We knew that there was an issue, but we decided to ship it anyway."

If you saw the presentation, Apple merely showed that EVERY smartphone has a similar issue. EVERY smartphone.

The "issue" isn't unique to the iPhone and can be replicated on EVERY smartphone out there.

Apple is doing exactly what you are saying- trying to appease the media and people who think they are "owed" something. I say that Apple buyers aren't that naive and really know what's going on and shouldn't be a party to this over-reactive nonsense.

How can you compare a 3GS phone that's been out longer to a fresh out the gate (22 days) iPhone 4 for customer complaints and dropped calls???

Even with Jobs comparing this phone to other phones with signal issues, did they drop calls as soon as you touched the "X marks the spot?" I don't think so. I'm disappointed and I do not think Steve Jobs answered the right questions.

return your phone and shut up...problem solved

What case option will you take?

I already have 2 bumpers (white and green)

but I am still having trouble deciding wether to take a refund on one of my bumpers or to get a third party case free

For those who already have bumpers...what will you be doing?

So how would the bumper refund work??

Store credit? I would love to get the dock using my credit

Thank God Steve stood up for what's right. And along those lines, I am perfectly happy with my iPhone 4 and the Bumper I bought on Day 1 and don't want Apple's money at all. I wasn't raised to take money I don't deserve. In fact, I'd like them to charge me an additional $29.00 to offset someone else's free case if that's what it takes as a gesture to show Apple how happy we are with what they do for us.

Look what we're doing to Apple. We can't let this happen.

Posted from my iPhone 4
Imams would love you.

Isn't it cute when people have zero egoism?

This should be the "return" thread. But really, Jobs has made his stand for Apple on this so if owners of the new phone aren't satisfied with a case, are not satisfied with the phone, are not satisfied with Jobs or Apple--than return it--that really is a pretty simple solution.

i doubt anyone buying one on ebay will be able to get a refund... everyone who sold one though will still have their receipts and can get even more of a return on their initial $29 investment...

Tell you what, ya'll find me a phone that does what I do with my iPhone and I will gladly....GLADLY return it and buy that phone. Hell, I'll even eat the restocking fee. I need MLB at Bat with streaming game video, Slingplayer, a decent camera and something to put pictures together into one large picture. You're still here? Go! Hurry up, too, I don't have all day. Otherwise, I'd like my iPhone fixed so I don't need this freaking case on it so it functions as a phone. I hate this case.

Short of that, there's nothing to discuss.

iPhone 3GS?

lol they closed bumper's ordering from their site
iPhone 4 Bumpers are currently unavailable for sale.

Is the bumper receipt required to get a refund?

Can I just show up at the same Apple Store I bought it from and get $30 store credit?

We'll have to see what the options are first.

Kinda wish they'd given us $29 giftcards, as I bought my Switcheasy nude and am happy with it.
