I'm also interested in a set of bluetooth headphones. Something like the PowerBeats2 look ideal. Not cheap, but I don't mind paying for a good quality product if they are indeed worth it.

My only issue is that when reading some of the Apple store reviews people have said their battery went flat and then it wouldn't charge and have had to get them replaced several times for the same issue. Sure, a simple answer is to just not let the batteries go flat, but sometimes these things happen for one reason or another. However, just like when my phone battery goes flat I expect to be able to plug it in and let it charge.

Has anyone on here had their PowerBeats2 battery go flat and then had issues re-charging it? Other than that issue the reviews seem pretty good. However it is a pretty big issue.

So is this something to be concerned with?

Can anyone advise ony my post above regarding PowerBeats 2 battery issues?

They use a standard mini usb connector so I guess someone could try it out and report back. I will try if I get a chance.

That would be awesome if you could let me know. I hate the idea of headphones dying (not during workout, but maybe a long trip) and if I can plug them into a portable battery and keep listening that would help

Save yourself $100 and get QY7s (branded under SoundPeats, Flexion, Mpow, Senbowe) if you're just using them for sports and working out. They are incredibly good for $20-$30.

Then you can use that $100 towards some nice wired headphones (or high-end non-sport BT headphones) for your serious music enjoyment.

----------

Looked around Amazon for a while and wasn't crazy about anything, and then last night I happened across these.

The Cheetahs aren't as good as the QY7s (Mpow calls them Swift). You might want to check those out, too. The QY7s are found under several other brands, all essentially the same.

But either way, this is the best way to go if you're just using the headphones for working out. Save your big money for some seriously nice headphones to use when you aren't working out.

I had the jaybird bluebirds. The treble was almost ear piercing for me. it just had an annoying eq. I got the beats instead and love them. The bluebirds also didnt stay in my ears.

Any recommendation for something discrete to use with the watch? I'm talking about just one ear and preferably with decent sound quality. Something to listen to a little bit of music and take a call when necessary.

Sony SBH-50 (or SBH-20) and then any normal headphones that you want. I use Bose SoundSports with mine and they're excellent.

How's the actual battery life on the Bluebird X headphones? I tried the SOL Shadows, they said the battery life was 8 hours, but wishing 4 hours I kept getting a warning for low battery. I returned them for the LG Tone Infinum which claim up to 14 hours. The guy at Best Buy obviously didn't know them that well, but he said the Bluebirds would actually have the best battery life, even though on the box I think they claim up to 8 hours.

I also checked out some new Samsung Gear Circles, I really liked what I saw, anyone tried them yet, or know anything about them?

How was Best Buy about returns on headphones? I recently bought the Jabra Rox and I like them a lot, but I'm not sure if I can keep them in my ears. I've ordered some different tips to try out. I'm considering returning them and trying the Bluebud X.

Is Best Buy a total pain in the arse to deal with on returns?

They didn't even question it, I grabbed the new ones I wanted off the shelf and just brought them to the counter and said I wasn't happy with the battery life and wanted to try these instead. Easy as could be.

Dang Watch! Making me want to spend money on the best bluetooth headphones possible.

So I have been living happily with my corded music... now I ordered an aluminum apple watch, and hey it plays music over bluetooth.

So I think to myself, hey I should get some bluetooth headphones... But all of them seem well... not so appealing. I am spoiled by my history, I've owned/own Etymotic ER-4Ps, Shure SE530s, UE Triple-fis, and the Sony XBA-H3... and I'm not satisfied with the caliber of headphones that use bluetooth.

To top it off, apple doesn't support aptX... But they do support AAC streaming to the headphones.

So began my quest... which unfortunately has lead me to the following.

The Sony XBA-Z5s... which yes are actually corded... and 699$.

But wait. I see that I can import this for it.

http://www.sony-asia.com/product/muc-m1bt1

Which will convert them into bluetooth headphones... which support SBC,aptX... and AAC streaming! All for the low price of 185$ in addition.

So my ideal bluetooth streaming solution is now ~900$... And the watch is only 349$... I guess I'd feel less silly if I got the stainless steel watch about now.

I tried to make myself just pick up the LG infiniums, or the sol republic shadows... but I can't seem to do it. First world audiophile problems right?

I haven't done any actual tests but I've had mine for months and I'd say it's dead on or pretty damn close to 8 hrs. I mostly use them for daily bike rides and at the gym and only have to charge a couple of times a week.

The biggest downside is they don't power off when not used so If you don't turn them off it can drain the battery.

The only time I'll be using the watch for music is working out. I just bought some $30 BT headphones designed for sports/exercise. I'll save my money for good, wired headphones to use elsewhere.

The Apple Watch and bluetooth will bottleneck the sound quality big time. If you really want great sound quality on the go, you're much better off using a separate music player, like a Fioo X3 or Colorfly C4, and then you won't be limited by headphone selection either. For an audiophile, the extra cost is a non issue.

As long as there is a stable connection without dropouts I don't really care about the sound quality

I have LG infinium wireless which I use every so often. They have Harmon Kardon speakers. Retail 170 but I get 50% off at work so they were worth the buy

I'm not much into Apple Watch technology but do you have to have your iphone with you to play music or can you transfer it via iTunes?
